Moussa Kamissoko, who verbally committed to Syracuse basketball a week ago, is a five-star wing/small forward and a top-15 national prospect in the high school senior class. Rivals puts the 6-foot-8, 180-pound Kamissoko at No. 7 around the country in the 2027 cycle.

Yet even as the Bronx, N.Y., native is among the top seniors nationwide, Kamissoko is an extremely unselfish player and a terrific teammate, according to his AAU head coach in the latest grassroots hoops season.

"He puts winning above himself and will do whatever it takes to win," Donovan Jones, the head coach for the 17U team of the Bronx-based PSA Cardinals in Nike's EYBL league, told Inside the Loud House in a phone interview this past Sunday. "Syracuse got a great player. ... He fits the mold at SU."

Over the spring and summer, Kamissoko averaged 16.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game for the PSA Cardinals. He connected on 51.2 percent from the field, 35.3 percent from beyond the arc and 69.7 percent from the free-throw line.

In the Orange's 2027 class, Kamissoko joins three-star wing Jack Donohue, who hails from Albany, N.Y., and is a senior at The Newman School in Boston. As Inside the Loud House has reported, SU's 2027 cycle could end up as a two-member class.

Syracuse basketball got a massive commitment last week in five-star senior Moussa Kamissoko.

Kamissoko, who will spend his senior season at the powerhouse Spire Academy in Geneva, Ohio, is an athletic, long and rangy wing - a prototypical commit for the Orange, analysts and scouts have told Inside the Loud House.

He took an official visit to the 'Cuse and first-year head coach Gerry McNamara in early September, with Kamissoko noting that he's excited to compete for the Orange and its fan base inside the JMA Wireless Dome.

Jones says that Kamissoko is pumped to suit up in the Atlantic Coast Conference, and playing for the 'Cuse, not far from home, was appealing, so that his family could watch his games in person throughout his SU career.

While experts say that Kamissoko has NBA potential, Jones noted that with the availability of rev-share and third-party NIL deals, collegiate players may think about coming back for a second year rather than attempting to go pro, because the financial considerations in college can be substantial.

Whether he starts or comes off the bench as a freshman for Syracuse in the 2027-28 campaign, Jones believes that Kamissoko can make an impact. "Whatever the team needs him to do at the start, he'll do," Jones says.

Kamissoko is a fantastic two-point shooter in the paint and around the rim. He has a credible 3-point shot, boasts a competitive edge and can guard multiple positions on the defensive side. Understandably, Jones says that Kamissoko must hit the weight room and continue to add muscle and strength to his frame.

"Moussa has a winning personality and attitude," Jones adds.

The EYBL head coach says that Kamissoko wants to put himself in "uncomfortable situations" where he can challenge himself, learn and grow. Spire will present that opportunity for Kamissoko in 2026-27, and then it's off to the Hill for the Bronx native.

"I like Syracuse," Jones says. "I like that fit for Moussa."
