As we've noted here at Inside the Loud House many times of late, the new Syracuse basketball staff under first-year head coach Gerry McNamara is quite active these days when it comes to high school recruiting.
Of course, when McNamara was first hired by SU officials to lead the Orange program in March, the focus for him and his assistants was constructing their 2026-27 roster. Now that the 'Cuse line-up for next season is complete, the attention, more recently, has turned to prep recruiting targets.
Dating back to the spring, McNamara and his assistants have been on hand for prospects during live periods on the AAU circuits, as players suited up for their high school teams last month during two scholastic live periods and at other recent showcases. There are also two upcoming live periods in grassroots hoops later this month.
Within the 2027 class, the new Orange staff has doled out scholarship offers to some highly ranked players while continuing to evaluate others in the rising high school senior cycle. At least one official visit to the Hill has been set, and more will likely come soon.

In May, amid the live period, the 'Cuse staff checked in on Griffiths as he competed for the 17U team of the Boston-based Middlesex Magic on the UAA circuit.

J'Lon Lyons
The DMV four-star point guard out of the Clinton Grace Christian School in Clinton, Md., will take an official visit to Syracuse basketball from September 11 to September 13, a source confirmed to me last week.
