Syracuse basketball 2027 priority target J'Lon Lyons, a four-star point guard in the rising high school senior class, has scheduled an official visit to the Orange, according to national analyst Sam Kayser.
The 6-foot-3 Lyons, a talented and fast-rising DMV product, will officially visit the 'Cuse from September 11 to September 13. A top-50 national prospect in his cycle, Lyons had recently said that the SU program was among those suitors that he wants to officially visit.

The new Orange staff under first-year head coach Gerry McNamara appears to be putting on a full-court press for Lyons, a standout at the Clinton Grace Christian School in Clinton, Md., and the 17U squad of the Washington, D.C.-based Team Takeover in Nike's EYBL league.
This past weekend during a scholastic live period, McNamara and several 'Cuse assistant coaches were on hand for Lyons as he played at a high level at DMV Live in Hyattsville, Md. In one game at DMV Live, McNamara was sitting next to former Syracuse basketball head coach Adrian Autry, who is now an assistant at fellow Atlantic Coast Conference school Virginia. The Cavaliers, too, are in pursuit of Lyons.
Syracuse basketball is heavily involved with 2027 four-star point guard J'Lon Lyons.
Autry's staff first offered a scholarship to Lyons last summer. His full scholarship offer sheet, according to recruiting services, includes schools such as Cincinnati, Washington, Boston College, Tennessee, Pittsburgh, Missouri, Butler, Alabama, George Washington, Maryland, Virginia, Mississippi State, Seton Hall, Oklahoma State, Providence, Virginia Tech, Florida State, George Mason, Georgetown and Morehead State.
A few weeks ago, according to a post on X from the account NXN, Lyons said that he hopes to officially visit other college squads such as Alabama, Boston College, Butler, Cincinnati, Louisville, Maryland, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Texas, VCU and Virginia.
Lyons was on the All-Met first team in the talent-rich Washington, D.C., market as a junior at Clinton Grace. While he's ranked around the top 50 nationally by multiple recruiting Web sites, some analysts and scouts believe that Lyons is primed to significantly jump in the 2027 ratings.
In July, there will be two more live periods on the EYBL circuit. I expect McNamara and his staff to be in for Lyons then, along with other recruiting targets in the 2027 and 2028 classes.
