The new Syracuse basketball staff, led by first-year head coach Gerry McNamara, is doling out various offers to 2027 and 2028 prospects.

One scholarship offer recently went out to 2027 four-star small forward Carson Crawford from the Sunshine State, he noted on his Instagram page. The 6-foot-7 Crawford is a prolific scorer, having dropped 50 points in a game this past season when his high school was a state finalist in Florida.

According to his Instagram account, Crawford's full scholarship offer sheet also includes teams such as Cincinnati, Jacksonville, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Florida A&M, Le Moyne, Florida Atlantic, Georgia, Providence, USF, Texas A&M and Ole Miss.

Within the 2027 class, the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking places Crawford at No. 48 overall, No. 11 at small forward and No. 7 in Florida. Over at the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, he is No. 54 nationally, No. 13 at small forward and No. 10 in Florida.

Syracuse basketball is in pursuit of 2027 four-star wing Carson Crawford.

Crawford is a standout rising senior at Fleming Island High School in Fleming Island, Fla., which is near Jacksonville. Per MaxPreps, in the 2025-26 season, Crawford averaged 17.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per contest while making 54 percent from the field.

This past campaign, Fleming Island went 23-9 overall, according to MaxPreps, and advanced to the championship game of the Florida High School Athletic Association ("FHSAA") Class 5A state tournament. In a February encounter, Crawford had a ridiculous outing, as he tallied 50 points and 15 rebounds.

This spring and summer on the AAU circuits, Crawford is playing at a high level for the 17U team of the Florida Rebels in Nike's EYBL league. So far in the current AAU season, he's averaging 11.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game while connecting on 57.7 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from beyond the arc and 66.7 percent from the free-throw line.

In late May, when the EYBL held its third spring session, Crawford averaged 13.5 points, 9.5 boards and 2.8 dimes per contest while hitting on 65.8 percent from the field as a whole. The scouting experts at The Circuit named him to their All-EYBL third team for that third spring session.
