Syracuse football has a top-10 national class in the 2027 cycle, and the Orange staff hopes to add more high school juniors to the fold in the coming months.
Currently, the 'Cuse has at least eight verbal pledges in the 2027 class, and this Orange cycle is No. 6 around the country, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
While some high school juniors may wait until the fall to make their college decisions known, Syracuse football coaches could see more 2027 verbal commitments before that, amid recruiting targets making trips to the Hill for spring practices or taking official visits to the 'Cuse in the late spring and into the summer.
The latest chatter and intel regarding Syracuse football's 2027 class.
Let's get into the Orange's 2027 cycle from a variety of angles. Please note that the information presented below is based on my own reporting, along with other media reports and commentary from recruiting analysts, as well as social media posts from high school players themselves.

Junior days
The Orange program held several of its junior days in January, including one on January 24 and one on January 31. Various 2027 prospects who attended one of these junior days have since picked up scholarship offers from the 'Cuse staff, and we'll monitor if some of these junior-day attendees end up visiting Syracuse football again during spring practices or opt for official visits later this year.
Flip watch?
Like many of its peers around the country, the Orange has offered 2027 prospects who are verbally committed to other college programs. Syracuse football coaches are trying to flip, among others, Alabama pledge Nash Johnson lll, a three-star cornerback at McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Ga., and possibly four-star athlete Demarcus Deroche of Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., who is a Miami commit.
List cuts
Four-star defensive back Bryce Williams of Western High School in Davie, Fla., a former Florida State verbal commit, has the 'Cuse in his top six. Five-star wide receiver Nick Lennear of Miami Carol City Senior High School has Syracuse football in his top five; the SU staff is discussing an upcoming visit to the Hill with Lennear.
Prospects who are high on SU and may visit
Numerous 2027 targets have indicated that the Orange is a school standing out to them, and these high school juniors could end up visiting Syracuse football amid spring practices or take official visits down the line (some have already visited the Hill, too). These recruits include, but are not limited to:
•Three-star offensive lineman Alijah Jones of James Monroe High School in Rochester, N.Y.
•Three-star defensive lineman Tyler Alexander of Palm Beach Central High School in Wellington, Fla.
•Four-star defensive back Trezavant Boyd of Mater Academy Charter High School in Hialeah Gardens, Fla.
•Three-star wide receiver Jamal Robinson Jr. of Mater Academy Charter High School in Hialeah Gardens, Fla.
•Four-star wide receiver Alvin Mosley of Almeta Crawford High School in Rosharon, Texas
•Edge Esa Wittingburg of East Orange Campus High School in East Orange, N.J.
•Four-star linebacker Mikahi Allen of the Don Bosco Preparatory High School in Ramsey, N.J.
•Four-star offensive tackle Timi Aliu of Locust Grove High School in Locust Grove, Ga.

•Athlete Noah Collins-Howard of Rush-Henrietta Senior High School in Henrietta, N.Y.
•Tight end Saleh Atariwa of Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, N.Y.
•Three-star quarterback Charlie Foulke of the St. Joseph's Preparatory School in Philadelphia
•Edge Bradyn Paulozzi of St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio
•Athlete Marcus Turpin of the Gilman School in Baltimore
•Four-star edge Aidan O'Neil of the Don Bosco Preparatory High School in Ramsey, N.J.
Can SU close on elite 4-star edge and 4-star RB?
Syracuse football coaches have recruited four-star edge Mekai Brown of the Greenwich Country Day School in Greenwich, Conn., and four-star running back Elijah Kimble of Canisius High School in Buffalo, N.Y., hard for a while now. But the competition is steep for each target. According to analysts, Brown and Kimble have been busy setting up spring visits and even official visits. Let's see if the 'Cuse gets upcoming visits from Brown, a top-35 national prospect, and Kimble, a top-140 overall player in this class.

There are a lot of moving parts these days related to the Orange's 2027 recruiting efforts. Syracuse football coaches have the makings of a special 2027 class that could potentially rival their record-setting 2026 cycle.
