Since Gerry McNamara took over the Syracuse basketball program as its head coach in late March, he and his new assistant coaching staff have doled out scholarship offers to a variety of prospects in the 2027 class.
These days, though, McNamara and his assistants are recruiting some of these targets in the high school senior class harder than others. Additionally, some of those 2027 players who have received an offer from the 'Cuse are focused on other schools.
Recruiting is a fluid business, so things can change as far as which 2027 targets are the top priorities for the SU coaching staff. What's more, given the new 5-for-5 eligibility rule, the transfer portal's explosion and financial considerations via rev-share and third-party NIL deals, some experts believe that many 2027 prospects could extend their respective recruitments further into their senior years than has been the norm in prep recruiting.
In any event, as it currently stands, here are the 2027 priority targets for the Orange, Inside the Loud House has learned. To reiterate, this could change. Let's see how the fall recruiting period, which begins the first full week of September, shakes out.

Top tier
Nasir Anderson
Five-star point guard out of Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The 'Cuse staff offered a scholarship to Anderson in late April of this year.
Ian Condon
Four-star power forward out of the Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C.
The Orange offered Condon in late May of this year. He will take an official visit to Syracuse basketball from September 1 to September 2, as Inside the Loud House first reported.
Moussa Kamissoko
Five-star wing/small forward out of Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y.
The former 'Cuse coaching staff first offered Kamissoko in late December 2024. McNamara and his assistants continue to push hard for Kamissoko.
J'Lon Lyons
Four-star point guard out of the Clinton Grace Christian School in Clinton, Md.
Lyons was first offered by the former SU staff last summer. He will officially visit the 'Cuse from September 11 to September 13, Inside the Loud House has confirmed.
Ahmed Nur
Four-star wing/forward out of CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix
Nur picked up his SU offer in June. He will go on an official visit to the Orange from August 28 to August 30, as Rivals first reported.
While Condon, Lyons and Nur have locked in upcoming trips to the Hill, the 'Cuse staff is working to set up official visits with Anderson and Kamissoko, Inside the Loud House is told.
Keep an eye on
Devin Cleveland
Four-star guard out of the La Lumiere School in La Porte, Ind.
SU offered Cleveland about 10 days ago, so his recruitment with the Orange is newer than other 'Cuse targets. That being said, Cleveland is one to monitor.
Zion Green
Four-star power forward out of the AZ Compass Prep School in Chandler, Ariz.
The new Syracuse basketball staff recently re-offered Green, who took an unofficial visit to Central New York in late August 2025. Green has said in multiple interviews of late that SU is among the schools recruiting him the hardest, so Inside the Loud House will keep tabs on Green.
Lewis Uvwo
Five-star center out of Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Syracuse basketball offered Uvwo, the No. 1 center in 2027, in late May of this year. McNamara was on hand to watch Uvwo last weekend amid the final live period of the summer on the AAU circuits.

•Jack Donohue, three-star wing out of The Newman School in Boston (took an unofficial visit to the Orange last month, as Inside the Loud House first reported)

•RJ Moore, four-star shooting guard out of the Ambassador Christian School in Huntersville, N.C.
