Devin Cleveland, a 2027 four-star guard from Chicago, has received a scholarship offer from the new Syracuse basketball staff under first-year head coach Gerry McNamara.
The 6-foot-3, 175-pound Cleveland, a top-35 national prospect in his class, announced his 'Cuse offer via his Instagram page on Monday. He is a rising senior at the La Lumiere School in La Porte, Ind. On Nike's EYBL circuit this spring and summer, Cleveland is playing for the 17U team of the St. Louis-based Bradley Beal Elite.
Bradley Beal Elite is 8-7 in EYBL competition and will suit up this week at the Nike league's season-ending Peach Jam tournament from July 14 to July 19 in North Augusta, S.C. Last weekend was a live period, and the Syracuse basketball staff was on hand for the EYBL's session in Las Vegas. Given that Cleveland just scored an SU offer, it's likely that 'Cuse coaches were watching him in Sin City.

Syracuse basketball has offered 2027 4-star guard Devin Cleveland.
Cleveland had a terrific junior campaign for La Lumiere, which is a member of the 15-team Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Scholastic ("EYBL Scholastic"), a super conference consisting of independent basketball academies and prep-school programs.
In 2025-26, La Lumiere went 22-5 overall and 10-4 in EYBL Scholastic play, finishing as a top-10 national team, according to MaxPreps. In EYBL Scholastic competition, Cleveland averaged 15.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game while making 45 percent from the field, 47 percent from 3-point land and 82 percent from the charity stripe.
As a sophomore, Cleveland was named a MaxPreps second-team All-American for the 2027 class while starring for Kenwood Academy High School in Chicago. He averaged 21 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals per game, and Kenwood went 31-2 overall and won its first Chicago Public League title.
The new Orange staff has offered a handful of 2027 guards, including four-star RJ Moore, four-star J'Lon Lyons, five-star King Gibson and five-star Nasir Anderson. Lyons, a priority recruit, will take an official visit to the 'Cuse from September 11 to September 13.
