Alex Constanza, a 2026 five-star guard/small forward and Syracuse basketball recruit, will battle other Orange targets in his senior year.
The 6-foot-8 Constanza, who hails from Florida, recently moved from the Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to the Spire Academy in Geneva, Ohio, for the upcoming 2025-26 season. That's according to numerous media reports and posts on X. Alex's dad also confirmed the news to me via text messages.
And there's another development to note regarding Spire. Per a recent X post, Spire will be competing in the nation's premier high school hoops conference, the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Scholastic ("EYBL Scholastic").
This past season, the EYBL Scholastic featured 14 teams. Several member schools, in 2024-25, had recruiting connections to the Syracuse basketball program, and a couple of them also competed in early April's Chipotle Nationals. That includes 'Cuse incoming freshmen Kiyan Anthony and Sadiq White Jr.
Syracuse basketball 2026 5-star recruit Alex Constanza will play for a legend.
Constanza, a top-15 national prospect in his cycle, will be coached by a giant in high school basketball in 2025-26. Spire's new head coach is Kevin Boyle, who most recently captured numerous national titles as the boss of the juggernaut Montverde Academy in Montverde, Fla.
Top national analyst/scout Samad Hines, via his X account, recently unveiled his super early preseason top 25 in high school hoops for 2025-26, placing Spire at No. 4 nationally.
Constanza, a standout this spring on the AAU circuit for the 17U squad of the Marietta, Ga.-based Team Scoot in the PUMA-sponsored PRO16 league, was offered a scholarship by the Orange in mid-January of 2024. Last October, he officially visited the 'Cuse, and he's considering a second trip to Syracuse basketball, his dad has told me.
Looking ahead to 2025-26, other EYBL Scholastic programs whose rosters boast prospects with either formal scholarship offers, or interest, from the Orange staff include Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y., CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix and the Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah.
At Long Island Lutheran, keep an eye on 2026 four-star power forward MJ Madison, 2026 five-star point guard Dylan Mingo and 2027 five-star wing/forward Moussa Kamissoko.
Over at CIA Bella Vista, four players hold Orange offers, and they are 2026 four-star point guard Miles Sadler, 2027 five-star big man Paul Osaruyi, 2026 four-star guard Rokiem Green and 2026 four-star center Aliou Dioum.
Not too long ago, Syracuse basketball offered 2026 four-star combo guard Katrelle Harmon, who suits up for Wasatch.
