New Syracuse basketball head coach Gerry McNamara and his staff will likely ramp up their high school recruiting efforts soon, now that they are, by and large, done with their roster construction for the 2026-27 season.

Since McNamara and his assistants took over the program not too long ago, SU coaches have offered scholarships to at least two prospects in the 2027 class, while re-offering another 2027 player who was previously a target under former head coach Adrian Autry and his staff.

This coming weekend is a live period on the AAU circuits, with more in-person evaluation periods arriving later this spring and over the summer. We'll learn more about which prospects in the 2027 (rising seniors), 2028 (rising juniors), 2029 (rising sophomores) and 2030 classes (incoming freshmen) will be pursued by Syracuse basketball amid these live periods that will take place not just in grassroots hoops, but also at other showcase events and during a scholastic evaluation period where players compete for their high school programs.

Additionally, on June 15, the contact period will open for 2028 players, meaning that college coaches can start initiating direct communication with rising high school juniors.

It's likely that Orange coaches will re-offer former recruits from the Autry era. The 'Cuse coaching staff will also offer "new" prospects, so to speak. So which high school players might garner interest and, ultimately, scholarship offers from Syracuse basketball coaches?

That remains to be seen, but one can read the tea leaves on social media to get a sense of high school prospects who could land an SU offer. What do I mean by this? Well, when college coaches follow high school prospects on Instagram and X, that is an indication there might be some level of interest by said colleges in those prep players.

Let me stress that a Syracuse basketball coach following a high school prospect on social media doesn't in any way, shape or form guarantee that player will pick up a 'Cuse offer. Still, I've posted below a list of some high school prospects who are followed by an Orange coach on social media.

To be fair, SU coaches may have followed some of these players before they joined the 'Cuse staff. Also, what I have below isn't meant to be fully comprehensive. It does, though, give Syracuse basketball recruiting enthusiasts some prospects to monitor moving forward.
