High school recruiting for Syracuse basketball is back! Yes!!!
With new head coach Gerry McNamara and his staff on board, I'm looking forward to the Orange making inroads with high school prospects across the 2027, 2028 and 2029 classes. To that end, the 'Cuse has made a big-time scholarship offer to a top guard in the 2027 cycle.
Per his X page, Syracuse basketball has offered a scholarship to 2027 five-star point guard Nasir Anderson, who is a top-10 national prospect and a top-three PG in this class. Congrats, Nasir!

At 6’3–6’4 with a strong frame, he brings a different level of physicality to the PG spot. Gets downhill whenever he wants, lives in the paint, and finishes through contact like a grown guard. That’s what separates him.

Anderson hails from Savannah, Ga. As a junior during the 2025-26 campaign, he received an honorable mention All-American nod from MaxPreps, helping lead the powerhouse Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to a top-10 national finish.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Anderson has great size for a point guard. When the grassroots basketball season recently kicked off, he was named a standout by numerous national analysts and scouts.

Besides the Orange, according to recruiting services, Anderson's scholarship offer sheet includes schools such as Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, California, Cincinnati, Florida, Georgia Tech, Houston, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, Maryland, Missouri, N.C. State, North Carolina, Southern California, Virginia and Virginia Tech, among others.
In 2025-26, Anderson averaged 13 points, eight assists, five rebounds and four steals per game, according to MaxPreps. Prolific Prep went 38-4 overall, reached the season-ending Chipotle Nationals and was ranked in the top-6 nationally by ESPN and MaxPreps.
In his team's Chipotle Nationals game (a close loss), Anderson tallied 12 points, seven assists, four rebounds and two steals.

This past weekend, the Adidas 3SSB league commenced its season with a first spring session in Ladera Ranch, Calif. Per 247Sports and other media outlets, Anderson was excellent for the 17U team of the Atlanta Celtics on the 3SSB circuit.

Amid that session on the West Coast, CBS Sports director of scouting Adam Finkelstein wrote on X: "Nasir Anderson started the weekend with a triple-double and almost got two more. Most physically imposing guard in the class."
The previous Syracuse basketball staff, led by former head coach Adrian Autry, had offered at least 15 prospects in the 2027 class, and I anticipate that some of these high school juniors will be re-offered by McNamara and his assistants.
