Syracuse basketball's latest scholarship offer in the 2027 cycle recently went out to an emerging prospect in the City of Brotherly Love.
Zaahir Muhammad-Gray, a three-star guard/small forward in the 2027 class, scored an offer from the 'Cuse staff earlier this month, he said via his X page. The 6-foot-7 Muhammad-Gray is a standout at the Imhotep Institute Charter High School in Philadelphia.

He competed in the Orange's annual Elite Camp in late August of 2024. At one point, it seemed that Muhammad-Gray was in the 2026 class, but he has since then moved to 2027.
So far in the 2025-26 season, according to social media posts, he has put up some big-time performances for Imhotep, which is 9-5 overall, per MaxPreps.
Syracuse basketball has made at least 15 offers in the 2027 cycle.

According to recruiting services, besides the Orange, Muhammad-Gray's full scholarship offer sheet includes schools such as Florida Gulf Coast, Temple, La Salle, North Carolina A&T, Penn State, Bryant, Albany and Georgia Tech.

At the time of this writing, within his class, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite placed him as three stars, No. 150 nationally, No. 40 at small forward and No. 3 in Pennsylvania.
On the AAU circuit, Muhammad-Gray competes for the Philadelphia-based Team Final in Nike's EYBL league. In recent years, Syracuse basketball coaches have pursued various high school prospects from both Imhotep and Team Final, including Justin Edwards, Jalil Bethea and Thomas Sorber, among others.
Another Team Final player is 2028 four-star combo guard Carter Smith, who holds an offer from the Orange and attends the William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia.
