Syracuse football is out of the running for Jaden Upshaw.

The four-star wide receiver and top-80 national prospect in the 2027 class has named a top six that includes Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Southern California, Tennessee and Texas A&M, according to a recent post on X from Hayes Fawcett of On3/Rivals.

Previously, the 6-foot-2, 202-pound Upshaw had a top 10 of the Orange, Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Texas A&M, Southern California, Michigan, Florida, Florida State and Tennessee.

Upshaw, a standout at Lee County High School in Leesburg, Ga., received a scholarship offer from the 'Cuse staff last August. In mid-October of last year, when Syracuse football hosted Pittsburgh at the JMA Wireless Dome, Upshaw was in attendance.

In the 2025 season, Lee County went 8-4 overall. Upshaw, per his X page, hauled in 45 catches for 907 yards with eight receiving touchdowns. Within the 2027 class, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, Upshaw is No. 79 nationally, No. 15 at wide receiver and No. 10 in Georgia.

Syracuse football is pursuing other talented 2027 wide receivers.

Buoyed by several recent pledges, the Orange now has at least 10 verbal commitments in a 2027 class that ranks No. 5 overall via the 247Sports Composite. While the 'Cuse coaching staff is still on the hunt for its first wide-receiver pledge in this cycle, Syracuse football is targeting some top-flight wideouts in 2027.

One is five-star Nick Lennear, who will spend his senior season at Miami Carol City Senior High School. Not too long ago, he dropped a top five of the 'Cuse, Miami, Florida State, LSU and Texas A&M. While the Hurricanes appear to be the favorite here, the Orange is talking with Lennear about getting him to the Hill for a visit.

Other 2027 wide receivers to watch include four-star Javien Robinson of McKeesport Area Senior High School in McKeesport, Pa., who has visited Syracuse football, and four-star Khalil Taylor of Pine-Richland High School in Gibsonia, Pa., a former Penn State verbal commit. The Orange staff is in regular communication with Taylor, who has reportedly visited the 'Cuse as well.
