Nasir Anderson, a five-star point guard in the 2027 class from Savannah, Ga., no longer plans to take an official visit to Syracuse basketball this coming weekend, according to a post on X from Joe Tipton of On3/Rivals.

It's not clear if the Orange staff is trying to reschedule an official visit with the 6-foot-3, 215-pound Anderson, or if the 'Cuse is potentially out of the running for the top-10 national prospect at this time. It's also possible that the SU staff has decided to move on from pursuing Anderson. Inside the Loud House will continue to track this development.

Offered a scholarship by Syracuse basketball first-year head coach Gerry McNamara and his staff this past April, Anderson has been one of three priority recruits for the Orange in the 2027 cycle, along with four-star wing/forward Ahmed Nur of CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix and five-star wing/small forward Moussa Kamissoko of the Spire Academy in Geneva, Ohio.

Nur took an official visit to SU in late August, while Kamissoko officially visited the 'Cuse earlier this month. To date, Syracuse basketball has one 2027 verbal pledge from three-star wing and Albany, N.Y., product Jack Donohue of The Newman School in Boston, who unofficially visited the Orange program in late June, as Inside the Loud House first reported.

Syracuse basketball faces steep competition for 2027 five-star point guard Nasir Anderson.

While it remains to be seen if the 'Cuse is still a contender for Anderson, he did include Syracuse in his top 10 that was disclosed late last month. That list also featured Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Providence, Tennessee, UConn and Virginia.

Anderson has taken official visits to Providence and, most recently, Virginia, where former SU head coach Adrian Autry is now an assistant. Anderson is scheduled to take upcoming official visits to Southern California, Kentucky, Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina.

Anderson is a senior at Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The fall recruiting period began on September 9, and Inside the Loud House reported that the Syracuse basketball staff was in for Anderson last Thursday.

Another point guard at Prolific Prep, 2028 five-star prospect Michai White, picked up a scholarship offer from the Orange while assistant coach Ben Lee was at the powerhouse prep program's open gym this past Thursday.
