Chicago product Devin Cleveland, a four-star guard and a top-40 national prospect in the 2027 class who has Syracuse basketball in his top seven, has scheduled four official visits, although one was previously known.

As first reported by Joe Tipton of On3/Rivals, the 6-foot-3, 175-pound Cleveland will take official visits to Alabama from September 18 to September 20; TCU from September 24 to September 26; Missouri from October 3 to October 4; and Michigan from November 6 to November 8.

Media company and recruiting service 247Sports also confirms these official visits for Cleveland, according to his bio there. Rivals had previously reported his official visit to Missouri. Cleveland has also gone on unofficial visits to Marquette and Michigan.

His top seven, announced in late July, consists of Alabama, Arkansas, Marquette, Michigan, Missouri, Syracuse and TCU. The new Orange staff under first-year head coach Gerry McNamara offered a scholarship to Cleveland in mid-July.

Syracuse basketball is among seven finalists for Chicago's Devin Cleveland, a 2027 4-star guard.

Inside the Loud House has reported that Syracuse basketball coaches are making an assertive push for Cleveland, and they're working to get him on the Hill for an official visit at some point. Let me be clear: Just because an official visit to SU wasn't announced in the Tipton report, doesn't mean Cleveland won't make a trip to the Hill.

It's also important to note that a dead period in Division I men's basketball recruiting ended on August 19, so we should start to see activity picking up in terms of official visits and other recruiting-related efforts by the Orange staff.

As Inside the Loud House noted on Thursday, while there doesn't appear to be a runaway favorite in Cleveland's recruiting process, there is some chatter that perhaps Missouri has positioned itself well to prevail for the 2027 guard.

In the 2026-27 campaign, Cleveland will be a senior at the La Lumiere School in La Porte, Ind., which is part of the 15-team Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Scholastic ("EYBL Scholastic"). He played well in the latest AAU season for the 17U team of the St. Louis-based Bradley Beal Elite in Nike's EYBL league.

National analysts and scouts say that Cleveland boasts terrific scoring prowess, is crafty with his playmaking and is effective out in transition. He will have to add strength to his somewhat slender frame.

"Outstanding shooter ... and a dynamic offensive player," Philip Kirsch, a basketball analyst at media outlet Pro Insight, told Inside the Loud House in a telephone interview this week.
