It's been a block party so far for Syracuse basketball recruit Lewis Uvwo, a 2027 five-star center, at this week's Peach Jam on Nike's EYBL circuit.
On Thursday, college coaches, including the Orange staff, could begin watching targets at Peach Jam and other shoe-sponsored circuits as they conduct their season-ending playoffs amid a live period that runs through Sunday.
Not too long ago, the 6-foot-10, 225-pound Uvwo, the nation's No. 1 center in his class, nearly recorded a triple-double in a win for his EYBL program, the Miami-based Nightrydas Elite, in the main 17U division.

With Syracuse basketball head coach Gerry McNamara on hand, among other college coaches, Uvwo tallied 10 points, nine rebounds, a ridiculous 10 blocks, two assists and one steal. Nightrydas beat the Milwaukee-based Team Herro, 58-51.
In his other games at the Peach Jam in North Augusta, S.C., when the Nightrydas went 1-1, Uvwo had 13 points, seven boards, two steals and two blocks in one encounter and six points, four rebounds, one steal and three blocks in the second affair.
Syracuse basketball is in pursuit of 2027 five-star center Lewis Uvwo from Florida.
The new Orange staff under McNamara offered a scholarship to Uvwo in May. In the 2026-27 campaign, he will be a senior at Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., which is one of the top high school teams around the country.
Nasir Anderson, a 2027 five-star point guard out of Prolific Prep, holds a 'Cuse offer, while Michai White, a 2028 five-star point guard who is receiving interest from the Syracuse staff, recently transferred to the Crew from the Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H.
Uvwo's full scholarship offer sheet includes schools such as Duke, Louisville, Arkansas, national champion Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Cincinnati, Providence, Miami, Seton Hall, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Kansas, Florida, Alabama, Southern California, BYU, UCLA, Mississippi State, LSU, Texas and Baylor.
Within the 2027 class, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite places Uvwo at No. 7 overall, No. 1 at center and No. 4 in Florida. Over at the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking, he is No. 8 nationally, No. 1 at center and No. 2 in Florida.
Given his offer list of powerhouse programs, it will be tough for Syracuse basketball to win out in Uvwo's recruitment. However, at this juncture, there don't appear to be any front-runners for him, as far as I can tell. Go for it, GMac!
