Syracuse women's basketball is on the board with its 2027 high school class.
On Friday night, during a ceremony at her New York City high school, point guard Josephine Pinnock said that she would verbally commit to the Orange and its head coach, former SU All-American player Felisha Legette-Jack.
The 5-foot-10 Pinnock chose the 'Cuse over other finalists Seton Hall, Hofstra and Stony Brook. She took an official visit to Syracuse women's basketball earlier this month, as first reported by Inside the Loud House.
The Orange coaching staff under Legette-Jack offered a scholarship to Pinnock on July 19 of this year, as she took an unofficial visit to Syracuse. Her full offer sheet also included teams like East Carolina, Hofstra, Memphis, William & Mary, Iona, Manhattan, Seton Hall, Georgetown, George Washington, Siena, Stony Brook and Northeastern, among others.

Syracuse women's basketball has its first 2027 verbal pledge in point guard Josephine Pinnock.
Pinnock is a standout at Christ the King High School in Middle Village, N.Y. As a junior, she averaged 19.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game and was named the New York State Catholic High School Athletic Association ("CHSAA") AAA player of the year.
Several months ago, when Prep Girls Hoops refreshed its 2027 rankings in New York state, Pinnock arrived at No. 3 overall. With a strong senior year at Christ the King, she could emerge as the Empire State's top senior when all is said and done.
As Pinnock is now on board with the Orange, Syracuse coaches will now turn their attention toward other 2027 recruiting targets. This month, the 'Cuse staff has hosted two other prospects on official visits.
One is 2027 four-star guard Chance Berry, an elite Canadian product who is spending her senior year at the juggernaut DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Fla. Berry has SU in her top eight, and I believe that she has several more official visits planned.
Anna Smykovskaia, a center from Spain, also recently took an official visit to the 'Cuse. Two more 2027 targets to potentially monitor are five-star point guard Kaleena Smith of the Ontario Christian School in Ontario, Calif., and four-star forward Ashley Kreiger of the Westtown School in West Chester, Pa., Inside the Loud House is told.
