Syracuse women's basketball will soon find out if it has landed its first 2027 verbal pledge.
Josephine Pinnock, one of New York's top high school prospects in the high school senior class, has named a top four that includes the Orange, along with Seton Hall, Hofstra and Stony Brook, according to her Instagram page.
The 5-foot-10 point guard is set to announce her college decision on Friday at 7:00 pm EST at her high school. Pinnock took an official visit to the 'Cuse earlier this month, as Inside the Loud House first reported.

According to her Instagram account, Pinnock has also taken official visits to Hofstra and Seton Hall. It's unclear if she has visited Stony Brook.
Syracuse basketball has made the final four of 2027 PG Josephine Pinnock.
Pinnock attends Christ the King High School in Middle Village, N.Y. In grassroots basketball, she has competed for the Rosedale, N.Y.-based Positive Direction, whose founder and executive director, JoAnn Arbitello Pinnock, is Josephine Pinnock's mom.
As a junior in the 2025-26 campaign, Pinnock was named the New York State Catholic High School Athletic Association ("CHSAA") AAA player of the year. She averaged 19.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game.
The Orange staff, led by head coach Felisha Legette-Jack, offered a scholarship to Pinnock on July 19, 2026, as she took an unofficial visit to Syracuse. Besides SU, her full scholarship offer sheet includes schools such as East Carolina, Hofstra, Memphis, William & Mary, Iona, Manhattan, Seton Hall, Georgetown, George Washington, Siena, Stony Brook and Northeastern, among others.
While Pinnock doesn't appear to be nationally ranked in the 2027 class, she is No. 3 overall in New York within the high school senior cycle.

Other SU recruits who have officially visited the program of late include 2027 four-star guard Chance Berry out of the DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Fla., who has the Orange in her top eight; and Anna Smykovskaia, a center from Spain.
