The Associated Press All-America teams for the 2024 season were disclosed on Monday, and Syracuse football got a little love.

Redshirt junior tight end Oronde Gadsden II was named to the AP All-America third team, an awesome and well-deserved honor for the 6-foot-5, 236-pound Gadsden, who hails from Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Per SU Athletics, Gadsden had already been named to Sports Illustrated's All-America second squad. Additionally, he resides on this season's All-ACC first team, an honor that Gadsden also earned in 2022 when he hauled in 61 passes for 969 yards and six touchdowns through the air.

Last year, unfortunately, Gadsden missed much of the 2023 term due to an injury, but he came back strong in 2024, helping guide Syracuse football to a 9-3 overall record, a No. 21 rating in the latest College Football Playoff top 25, three wins over ranked foes, and a berth in the Holiday Bowl, where the Orange will battle Pac-12 Conference member Washington State (8-4 overall) on December 27 in San Diego.

Syracuse football star tight end Oronde Gadsden II is an AP All-American.

In the 2024 regular season, Gadsden hauled in 69 catches for 860 yards and five scores. He's tallied at least 100 receiving yards in five games this term. Gadsden has broken his own 'Cuse single-season program record for receptions by a tight end, with those 69 so far this stanza eclipsing his 61 catches in 2022.

Should Gadsden collect 109 receiving yards in the Holiday Bowl, he would tie his Orange program record for receiving yards by a tight end in a season, which currently stands at 969 from two campaigns ago.

Per SU Athletics, to date in 2024, Gadsden ranks fourth nationally in receptions by a tight end. Currently, he is No. 8 as it relates to the most receptions by a 'Cuse receiver in a single season, and Gadsden needs three more to tie Alec Lemon at 72 for the No. 7 spot.

According to that recent cuse.com statement, Gadsden boasts the most career receptions and receiving yards by a tight end in Orange program history. On the team's all-time list, he is fifth in total catches, at 139, and 10th in yards, at 1,920.

During the 2024 regular season, Syracuse football had one of the most prolific passing attacks in the country, led by record-setting senior quarterback Kyle McCord, who has done an excellent job of spreading his throws around to guys such as Gadsden, redshirt junior wide receiver Trebor Pena, senior wide receiver Jackson Meeks and junior running back LeQuint Allen Jr., among others.
