Kiyan Anthony, the 2025 four-star shooting guard, is committed to Syracuse basketball and will follow his famous father to the Hill and play for the Orange next season.
Might Donovan McNabb Jr. do the same thing down the line? The 2027 three-star athlete/wide receiver, the son of Syracuse football legend and former long-time NFL star quarterback Donovan McNabb, recently disclosed via his X page that head coach Fran Brown and his top-flight staff have offered him a scholarship, which is awesome.

Syracuse football has officially entered the recruitment of Donovan McNabb Jr.
Prior media reports had indicated that the Orange staff was showing an interest in McNabb and has been in regular communication with him. So the 'Cuse officially offering him a scholarship didn't come as a surprise to me.
McNabb previously has said that he was in attendance at the 2024 Holiday Bowl in late December of last year, when Syracuse football wrapped up this past season at 10-3 overall by beating Washington State in San Diego.
In a recent interview, McNabb told 247Sports analyst Mike McAllister that he was absolutely pleased by the Orange offer. "It feels great, you know, since my dad had went there, has his number retired and his name is on the football side of campus in Syracuse," McNabb said. "He was excited and happy that I received it (the Syracuse offer)."
Per the 247Sports report, McNabb plans to take a visit to the Syracuse football program this summer, though nothing is scheduled at this point. While it's early in his recruiting process, he says that the Orange is standing out to him.
"I've always loved the school and I would say it's in my highly favorites," McNabb says of the 'Cuse.
To date, Syracuse football coaches have at least two verbal pledges in their 2027 class. Those verbal commits among high school sophomores are Tank White, a 6-foot, 180-pound wide receiver/defensive back out of Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Fla., andΒ Justin Dixon, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound quarterback who attends the Concordia Preparatory School in Towson, Md.
