Justin Dixon, a talented quarterback who plays in the Baltimore area, verbally pledged to Syracuse football over the weekend as he visited the Orange program for the second time in November.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Dixon, as a member of the 2027 class, is only a sophomore in high school. Not a lot of 2027 prospects have made their college decisions as of yet, but Dixon says the time was right to pledge to the 'Cuse.

"I love the culture that coach (Fran) Brown is building here and I wanted to be a part of that," Dixon said to recruiting analyst Charles Kang of The Juice Online. "I chose to commit early because it was right for me. It just felt right."

A huge congrats and welcome from Orange Nation to Justin, who attends the Concordia Preparatory School in Towson, Md. In the 'Cuse 2027 cycle so far, Dixon joins athlete Tank White of Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Fla., who verbally pledged to Syracuse football in June of this year.

Syracuse football has scored a commitment from 2027 quarterback Justin Dixon.

Per his X page, Dixon visited the Orange this past weekend when Syracuse football upset No. 6 Miami on Saturday at the JMA Wireless Dome. He was also on the Hill in early November when the 'Cuse knocked off Virginia Tech.

The Syracuse football staff, led by first-year head coach Brown, offered a scholarship to Dixon on September 18, according to his X account.

According to recruiting services, Dixon also holds an offer from Maryland, along with interest from Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

Dixon said to Kang, "I picked Syracuse because of the hospitality and family feel they gave me from day one." The new Orange verbal commit added, "The offense is very QB friendly. They throw the football a ton which I love and spread the ball around to different receivers which is awesome. 'Everybody eats.'"

On Saturday, Dixon got to watch 'Cuse senior quarterback Kyle McCord put forth another stellar performance, versus the Hurricanes, amid the Ohio State four-star transfer's record-setting campaign for the Orange.

McCord, during the 2024 regular season, has broken numerous Syracuse football single-season program records, and he's one of the top signal-callers in the Atlantic Coast Conference and around the country.

Amid the Orange's stellar 9-3 regular season, and its massive comeback win against Miami, the buzz around the program is electric. Dixon verbally committed to the 'Cuse this past weekend, and I envision more high school players in various classes might do the same sooner rather than later.
