Syracuse football is in consistent contact with 2027 athlete/wide receiver Donovan McNabb Jr., and that's all kinds of awesome.
The 6-foot, 170-pound McNabb is the son of Orange legendary quarterback and long-time NFL signal-caller Donovan McNabb. Given that I overlapped with the elder McNabb for several years when I attended Syracuse University, I have to be honest, writing this article makes me feel kinda old.
But it's still cool.
Donovan McNabb Jr. is a sophomore at Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix. It's super early in his recruiting process, although he has already picked up several scholarship offers at this juncture.

Syracuse football is showing an interest in Donovan McNabb Jr.
Recently, McNabb has landed offers from Minnesota and Arizona, according to his X account. He also holds scholarship offers from Temple and Northern Arizona, per his bio on the 247Sports Web site.

He told 247Sports national recruiting editor Brandon Huffman, "It feels great getting both my first Big 12 and Big Ten offers. More schools are starting to follow up with me and are reaching out, especially a lot of Big Ten and SEC schools."

In late December of last year, as Syracuse football finished its 2024 season at 10-3 overall by defeating Washington State at the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, McNabb said that he was in attendance.
He said to 247Sports that he likes the culture that first-year head coach Fran Brown is building on the Hill, adding, "I like how he's built the relationship with all the players. He has a goal set out for him and the team. I talk to them the most."

To my knowledge, the Orange hasn't yet offered McNabb, however, I would anticipate that he will ultimately secure a scholarship offer from his dad's alma mater.

I'll be on the look-out for McNabb to, hopefully, get offered by the 'Cuse coaching staff at some point in the future. In the meantime, Syracuse football does have two verbal pledges in its 2027 class.
They are from Tank White, a 6-foot, 180-pound wide receiver/defensive back out of Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Fla., and Justin Dixon, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound quarterback who attends the Concordia Preparatory School in Towson, Md.
Some of my fondest memories at SU, where I graduated from in 2000, centered on the Syracuse football program, led by McNabb. The thought of Orange coaches pursuing his son is equally amazing and mind-boggling to me, and that latter statement is due to my remembering Donovan McNabb throwing darts to 'Cuse receivers like it was yesterday.
