For the second time in a week, the Syracuse basketball staff was in attendance for 2027 priority target Moussa Kamissoko for an open gym at his high school.

Per social media posts, Orange assistant coach Jamal Brunt was in for the five-star wing/small forward on Wednesday. The 'Cuse staff was also in for the 6-foot-8, 180-pound Kamissoko last Wednesday, Sept. 9, which marked the start of the fall recruiting period.

For his senior year, Kamissoko has transferred from Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y., to the powerhouse Spire Academy in Geneva, Ohio. Kamissoko, ranked as high as No. 7 nationally in his class by Rivals, was also a standout performer in the latest AAU season for the 17U team of the Bronx, N.Y.-based PSA Cardinals in Nike's EYBL league.

On Wednesday, Sept. 16, per a post on X from Spire assistant coach/general manager Matt Cohen, college programs on hand at the open gym included SU, Florida State, Providence and Louisville, among others.

Kamissoko has recently taken official visits to FSU, Syracuse basketball and Oklahoma State. Per reports, he has numerous other official visits planned, including to Louisville and Providence.

Syracuse basketball is pushing hard for 2027 five-star wing/small forward Moussa Kamissoko.

Besides Kamissoko, the Orange coaching staff in the 2027 class is prioritizing four-star wing/forward Ahmed Nur, who took an official visit to the Hill in late August. Inside the Loud House has reported that the 'Cuse staff has been in for Nur at CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix since the fall recruiting period opened up.

SU coaches have also been in pursuit of 2027 five-star point guard Nasir Anderson with Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., although a report earlier this week stated that he has canceled his official visit to Syracuse scheduled for this coming weekend. Regarding Anderson, Inside the Loud House is still trying to determine whether a rescheduled official visit could happen, or if the Orange and/or Anderson have moved on.

To date, Syracuse basketball has one verbal pledge in its 2027 cycle from Albany, N.Y., product Jack Donohue, a three-star wing who goes to The Newman School in Boston.

Regarding Kamissoko, undeniably there is steep competition to prevail, but the Orange coaching staff is going all in for him. As a senior in the 2026-27 campaign, he will play for a program in Spire, led by legendary prep head coach Kevin Boyle, that is expected to compete for a high school national title, experts have told Inside the Loud House.
