Syracuse basketball in Las Vegas to watch 5-star commit Moussa Kamissoko and 5-star targets

A source confirms to Inside the Loud House that the Syracuse basketball staff is in Las Vegas to watch various high school prospects at the annual preseason showcase known as the Border League, which began on Friday and culminates on Sunday with several nationally televised games.

One key player whom the Orange staff is on hand for is 2027 five-star wing/small forward Moussa Kamissoko, who verbally committed to the 'Cuse late last month. Kamissoko is a senior at the Spire Academy in Geneva, Ohio, which will play against Fear of God from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on Sunday at 7:00 pm EST, with this contest airing on ESPN2.

Other games on Sunday include Prolific Prep from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., against the Golden Knights from La Cañada Flintridge, Calif., at 5:00 pm EST on ESPN2 and the Southeastern Preparatory Academy from Orlando, Fla., against the AZ Compass Prep School from Chandler, Ariz., at 9:00 pm EST on ESPN2.

At Prolific Prep, 2027 five-star point guard Nasir Anderson and 2028 five-star point guard Michai White hold offers from the Orange staff, while the 'Cuse is evaluating 2028 five-star center Bamba Touray. Anderson was supposed to officially visit the Orange last month but canceled the trip.

Ka'Shawn Gill, a 2028 four-star combo guard at Southeastern Prep, has a Syracuse basketball scholarship offer, while SU coaches are evaluating 2028 four-star guard Darren Ford of AZ Compass Prep.

Who else might Syracuse basketball be watching at the Border League in Las Vegas?

According to schedules that I came across online, other teams that appear to be suiting up in Sin City for this annual preseason showcase, and feature Orange recruits, include CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix, Iowa United Prep in Des Moines, Iowa, the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., and Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, among others (my article here isn't meant to be fully exhaustive, as the 'Cuse staff could be in attendance for other prospects, too).

CIA Bella Vista
Ahmed Nur, a 2027 four-star wing/forward, is a senior with the defending national champions. He took an official visit to the Hill in late August. Three 2028 guys who hold offers from SU are four-star forward Isaiah Clarke, five-star point guard Liam Mitakaro and four-star forward Settimo Yugu.

Iowa United Prep
Kevin Wheatley Jr., a 2028 five-star wing, recently transferred to Iowa United Prep. The Orange has offered him, and Wheatley took an unofficial visit to SU last December.

IMG
Will Brunson, a 2028 five-star wing/small forward, has transferred to IMG for his junior campaign. The new Syracuse basketball staff under first-year head coach Gerry McNamara has offered Brunson.

Columbus
Tai Bell, a 2028 five-star point guard, was recently offered by McNamara and his assistants. In early March, Bell took an unofficial visit to the 'Cuse, and Inside the Loud House has reported that he's interested in visiting Syracuse again.
