In late November of last year, Syracuse basketball 2025 commit Kiyan Anthony unfortunately suffered an injury in the 2024-25 season opener for his program, Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y.

After missing numerous games of late, the 6-foot-5, four-star shooting guard will return to the court on Friday evening, according to a social media post.

This weekend, Long Island Lutheran is suiting up in a showcase taking place in Indiana for squads that compete in the loaded 14-member Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Scholastic ("EYBL Scholastic").

That event is called the La Porte Invitational, and it will transpire this Friday and Saturday in La Porte, Ind., which is the home of EYBL Scholastic member La Lumiere School.

In an X post to the account SportsCenter NEXT, Anthony says he will play on Friday night as Long Island Lutheran battles the Veritas Academy from Santa Fe Springs, Calif., with the tip-off scheduled for 7:30 pm and live-streaming coverage on ESPN+.

Two of Anthony's teammates at the top-20 Long Island Lutheran are also Orange recruiting targets. Moussa Kamissoko, a 2027 four-star wing/forward, landed a scholarship offer from Syracuse basketball in late December of last year, while the 'Cuse staff is showing an interest in 2026 five-star point guard Dylan Mingo.

Per the schedule for the La Porte Invitational, on Saturday, Jan. 11, Long Island Lutheran will square off at 2:00 pm versus Orangeville Prep from Mono, Ontario.

Other Syracuse basketball four-star and five-star targets are in action this weekend.

On Friday evening, with a scheduled tip-off of 9:15 pm and coverage via ESPN+, the red-hot, top-15 CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix will go toe to toe with La Lumiere. On Saturday, CIA Bella Vista has a huge match-up starting at 3:45 pm with the defending national champion in high school hoops, the powerhouse Montverde Academy from Montverde, Fla.

In late October of 2024, Orange coaches offered scholarships to four CIA Bella Vista players. They are 2026 four-star point guard Miles Sadler, 2027 five-star big man Paul Osaruyi, 2026 four-star guard Rokiem Green and 2026 four-star center Aliou Dioum.

Also on Saturday, in a juicy encounter, the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., will play the Link Academy in Branson, Mo., with the tip-off slated for 5:30 pm. This week, ESPN recruiting director Paul Biancardi has IMG at No. 1 nationally in his latest top 25, while Link is No. 13.

A standout senior at IMG is Syracuse basketball 2025 commit Sadiq White Jr., a five-star forward. Link's 2024-25 roster, meanwhile, includes two former 'Cuse targets in the 2025 cycle. They are four-star guard Jerry Easter II, who is committed to Southern California, and five-star center Chris Cenac Jr., who is pledged to Houston.
