New Syracuse basketball recruiting target Nasir Anderson balled out in Europe on Thursday in an international event. Last weekend, though, amid a live period on the AAU circuits, the 2027 five-star point guard also played at an ultra-high level.

From May 15 to May 17, the Adidas-sponsored 3SSB league held a session in Mishawaka, Ind., with college coaches in attendance. While the Orange staff was out and about watching prospects during the live period, it's not clear whether the 'Cuse was in for Anderson last weekend in Indiana.

Still, at this latest 3SSB session, the 6-foot-4, 200-pound Anderson averaged 19.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.5 steals per game as his squad, the Atlanta Celtics (17U division), went 3-1 overall.

For his efforts, the scouting experts at The Circuit anointed Anderson as their offensive MVP for this latest Adidas 3SSB session. The Savannah, Ga., native was also named to the All-3SSB session two first team and the All-Defensive squad.

Syracuse basketball faces heavy competition for 2027 5-star PG Nasir Anderson.

In late April, the new 'Cuse staff, led by first-year head coach Gerry McNamara, offered a scholarship to Anderson, who is a standout at the powerhouse Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Anderson's full scholarship offer sheet, per his X page and recruiting services, includes schools such as Providence, UCLA, Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, California, Cincinnati, Florida, Georgia Tech, Houston, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, Maryland, Missouri, N.C. State, North Carolina, Southern California, Virginia and Virginia Tech, among others.

Within the 2027 cycle, Anderson is a consensus top-10 national prospect, and he's in the running for the title of the top overall point guard in this class.

Starting on Thursday, Anderson is part of the Team 3SSB roster that is competing in the eight-team NextGen EuroLeague Finals (U18), which transpires from May 21 to May 24 in Athens, Greece.

Team 3SSB, in its first encounter, stunned defending champion Zalgiris Kaunas by a final count of 104-93. Anderson was tremendous. In just over 25 minutes, he tallied 19 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and one steal while connecting on 9-of-16 from the field. On Friday, Anderson and Team 3SSB will face Crvena Zvezda Belgrade.

McNamara and his assistants are ramping up their high school recruiting efforts. In the last week or so, the Orange has offered another Prolific Prep standout, 2027 four-star center and top-20 national prospect Lewis Uvwo.

This spring and summer in grassroots hoops, the 6-foot-10, 225-pound Uvwo is playing for the 17U team of the Miami-based Nightrydas Elite in Nike's EYBL league.
