A new Syracuse basketball recruit is headed to Europe next week to participate in a loaded event.

Per a post on X from recruiting analyst Caden Ferguson, 2027 five-star point guard Nasir Anderson will suit up at the NextGen EuroLeague Finals, which will take place from May 21 to May 24 in Athens, Greece.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Anderson, offered a scholarship by the new Orange staff late last month, is on the Next Generation Team 3SSB roster. According to a press release from last month, "This marks the first time 3Stripes Select Basketball (3SSB) will compete in the NextGen Finals."

3SSB is an Adidas-sponsored AAU circuit. This spring and summer in this league, Anderson is competing for the 17U team of the Atlanta Celtics. In April, the 3SSB circuit held its first spring session, and he earned high praise from analysts and scouts for his performances in Ladera Ranch, Calif.

From May 15 to May 17, the Adidas league will hold its second spring session, in Mishawaka, Ind., amid a live period where college coaches can watch high school prospects in person. I'll be curious to see who the Orange coaching staff is checking out this weekend.

Syracuse basketball coaches are ramping up their high school recruiting efforts.

The eight teams playing in next week's NextGen EuroLeague Finals (U18) are:
•Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana
•FC Barcelona
•Pole France INSEP Paris
•Next Generation Team 3SSB
•Crvena Zvezda Belgrade
•Real Madrid
•Zalgiris Kaunas
•Panathinaikos Athens

There will be a dozen group-stage games from May 21 to May 23, followed by the championship game featuring the two group winners on May 24. Over the years, future NBA stars such as Luka Doncic, Victor Wembanyama and Nikola Jokic, among others, have played in NextGen.

Lately, Anderson is one of several high school players to pick up a scholarship offer from head coach Gerry McNamara and his assistants. Anderson, within the 2027 class, is No. 7 nationally, No. 2 at point guard and No. 4 in Florida, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

A native of Savannah, Ga., Anderson received an honorable mention All-American nod from MaxPreps for his play in the 2025-26 campaign as part of the loaded roster at Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Last season, Prolific Prep went 38-4 overall and reached the Chipotle Nationals.

Anderson's full offer sheet, beyond SU, includes teams such as Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, California, Cincinnati, Florida, Georgia Tech, Houston, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, Maryland, Missouri, N.C. State, North Carolina, Southern California, Virginia and Virginia Tech, among others.

Recently, the Orange staff has also offered 2027 four-star shooting guard RJ Moore of the Ambassador Christian School in Huntersville, N.C., and re-offered 2027 four-star center Caleb Ourigou of the Atlanta-based league Overtime Elite.

Syracuse basketball is also in regular communication with 2027 four-star wing Markus Kerr of the Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H.
