Not too long ago, ESPN released its latest national rankings across the 2027 and 2028 classes, while also introducing ratings for the 2029 cycle.
In this piece, I'm going to take a look at where Syracuse basketball 2027 recruits are placed. Since Gerry McNamara took over at his alma mater as the Orange's new head coach, the 'Cuse staff has offered numerous rising high school seniors, while showing an interest in others.
Several Orange recruits are rated five stars, but most of them are four-star prospects. ESPN includes 100 rising seniors in its most recent 2027 rankings.
Where Syracuse basketball targets reside in 2027 national rankings.
King Gibson
Point guard at the Spire Academy in Geneva, Ohio.
ESPN rankings: 5 stars and No. 7 overall
The new 'Cuse staff offered a scholarship to Gibson in mid-May.
Nasir Anderson
Point guard at Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.,
ESPN rankings: 5 stars and No. 9 overall
The Orange offered Anderson in late April.
Moussa Kamissoko
Wing/small forward at Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y.
ESPN rankings: 5 stars and No. 14 overall
The former SU staff under then-head coach Adrian Autry offered Kamissoko in late December of 2024. I'm told McNamara and his assistants are also in pursuit of Kamissoko, although I'm not sure if he has been re-offered.
Lewis Uvwo
Center at Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
ESPN rankings: 4 stars and No. 24 overall
Uvwo picked up his 'Cuse offer this past May.
Munir Greig
Wing at Coronado High School in Henderson, Nev.
ESPN rankings: 4 stars and No. 40 overall
Per analysts, the new Orange staff is showing interest in Greig. It's not clear to me if he has been offered yet.
Caleb Ourigou
Center at the Atlanta-based league Overtime Elite
ESPN rankings: 4 stars and No. 42 overall
In early May, the new Syracuse basketball staff re-offered a scholarship to Ourigou.
J'Lon Lyons
Point guard at the Clinton Grace Christian School in Clinton, Md.
ESPN rankings: 4 stars and No. 43 overall
Lyons was offered by the former SU staff last summer. He is taking an official visit to the Orange from September 11 to September 13, a source has confirmed to me.
Zion Green
Power forward at the AZ Compass Prep School in Chandler, Ariz.
ESPN rankings: 4 stars and No. 46 overall
Green was re-offered by the 'Cuse last month. He took an unofficial visit to Syracuse basketball in late August of 2025.
Carson Crawford

ESPN rankings: 4 stars and No. 52 overall
Crawford landed a scholarship offer from SU in late May.
Ahmed Nur
Power forward/center at CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix
ESPN rankings: 4 stars and No. 53 overall
This past June, Nur received an offer from Syracuse basketball.
RJ Moore

ESPN rankings: 4 stars and No. 75 overall
The Orange offered Moore a scholarship in late April.
Payton Jones

McNamara and his assistants have interest in Jones, who recently transferred to Dynamic Prep.

'Cuse coaches are evaluating Kerr, although I don't believe he's been offered at this juncture.
