I had been hearing rumblings about this for a while, and now it's official. A new international league has formed, called ATLAS, and it will include a Syracuse basketball verbal commit and various recruiting targets.

According to a press release, the 11-team ATLAS "will bring together elite global high school and academy basketball programs in one international platform, where the next generation competes to be crowned the champion in front of a worldwide audience."

Here are the teams in this new league:
•IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
•Spire Academy in Geneva, Ohio
•Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
•Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kan.
•DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Fla.
•Orangeville Prep in Mono, Ontario
•Orange1 Bassano in Italy
•OrangeAcademy Ulm in Germany
•Mega Basket in Serbia
•Žalgiris in Lithuania
•Pallacanestro Varese in Italy

Moussa Kamissoko, a 2027 five-star wing/small forward who recently pledged to the Orange, will spend his senior year at Spire, whose head coach is the legendary Kevin Boyle. Per the release, Boyle will serve as the new league's chief basketball officer.

"Atlas is building what I believe is the first truly elite international youth basketball league, bringing together top programs from North America and Europe," Boyle said in a statement.

Syracuse basketball recruits will also suit up in ATLAS.

At IMG, 2028 five-star small forward Will Brunson holds a scholarship offer from the 'Cuse. Over at Prolific Prep, 2028 five-star point guard Michai White was recently offered by the Orange. As Inside the Loud House has reported, the Syracuse basketball staff has been in for Kamissoko, Brunson and White during open gyms at their respective high schools since the start of the fall recruiting period last month.

ATLAS' regular season will include games at sites in North America and Europe from November until February, with the playoffs taking place in March in Toronto. The league's 2026-27 season will begin at IMG next month.

In the past, teams such as Spire, Sunrise, IMG and Orangeville Prep suited up in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Scholastic ("EYBL Scholastic"), which will have 15 members in 2026-27. All the schools now in the EYBL Scholastic are sponsored by Nike, while some of these programs in ATLAS are sponsored by other shoe and apparel companies.

In late May, for example, Spire announced a multi-year partnership with Adidas. IMG is sponsored by Under Armour. Syracuse basketball freshman center Abdramane Siby, before joining the Orange, played for Mega Basket, which is also known as Mega Superbet.
