Syracuse Football: RB who tallied 2,150 all-purpose yards, 31 TDs commits to 'Cuse
By Neil Adler
It was just another day at the office on Friday, as the Syracuse football recruiting train kept humming along.
Fast-rising and talented running back/athlete Bo MacCormack, who just unofficially visited the 'Cuse, said via his X page that he was verbally committing to the Orange, further bolstering the team's 2025 class.
I don't want to sound too obnoxious in saying this, but it's like I've almost come to expect a new commitment from the 'Cuse every day or two. That's a tad bit of an exaggeration, but Syracuse football coaches clearly are on a roll with their 2025 recruiting efforts.
The 6-foot, 190-pound MacCormack, on February 8 of this year, noted that he had received a scholarship offer from the new 'Cuse staff, which is led by head coach and ace recruiter Fran Brown.
On March 28, MacCormack unofficially visited the Orange, and he's planning to officially visit Syracuse football during the weekend that starts on May 31, according to media reports. A huge congrats and welcome from 'Cuse Nation to Bo!
Syracuse football has its first RB commit in the team's 2025 class.
MacCormack is a standout junior at the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge, Mass. As I noted in another recent column, during the most recent 2023 season, MacCormack collected a whopping 2,150 all-purpose yards and scored 31 total touchdowns.
While he also plays receiver and defensive back, reports suggest that the Orange is recruiting MacCormack primarily as a running back.
In one of his games as a junior, at the NEPSAC John Papas Bowl when Buckingham Browne & Nichols played at the Tabor Academy from Marion, Mass., MacCormack rushed 40 times for 431 yards and eight touchdowns.
He was honored with a lot of awards for his brilliant 2023 term, including the the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (“NEPSAC”) Class A player of the year and MVP of the Independent School League (“ISL”). MacCormack was also on the Massachusetts High School Football Coaches Association (“MHSFCA”) All-State team.
Besides Syracuse football, per recruiting Web sites, MacCormack has picked up scholarship offers from schools including Rutgers, Buffalo, Old Dominion, Boston College, Rhode Island, Nebraska, UMass, Delaware, Connecticut, Charlotte, Army and Coastal Carolina.
When I wrote this article, MacCormack became the ninth verbal pledge for the Syracuse football 2025 class. The Orange has secured a flurry of recent verbal commitments among high school juniors, including a pledge earlier this week from four-star quarterback Luke Carney, a prolific signal-caller out of the Dallas Christian School in Mesquite, Texas.
While this is subject to change in the future, at the time of this writing, the 'Cuse 2025 cycle was inside the top 40 nationally, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, Rivals.com and the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking.
What's more, the 247Sports Composite listed this Orange class at No. 15 overall, which is impressive.
