Syracuse football coaches appear to be making talented running back/athlete Bo MacCormack a priority target in the 2025 class.

The 6-foot, 190-pound MacCormack, who had a ridiculous junior season for his high school team in Massachusetts, received a scholarship offer from the Orange on February 8 of this year, he said via his X page.

Now MacCormack has set two upcoming visits to the Orange, which is led by head coach and ace recruiter Fran Brown, according to a media report.

Per his X page and recruiting services, MacCormack has picked up around a dozen scholarship offers from a range of high-major programs.

Syracuse football is recruiting 2025 RB/athlete Bo MacCormack hard.

MacCormack is a standout at the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge, Mass. Per an article from SyracuseOnSI publisher Mike McAllister, in the most recent 2023 season, MacCormack tallied 2,150 all-purpose yards and 31 touchdowns.

MacCormack, who can also play receiver and defensive back, added 52 tackles, one interception and one forced fumble, per a post on X from Alex Agrella, the owner of the Recruiting Board.

In mid-November of last year, Buckingham Browne & Nichols played at the Tabor Academy from Marion, Mass., in the NEPSAC John Papas Bowl.

Per a post on X from Cam Kerry, a writer with The Boston Globe, MacCormack’s team prevailed, 63-43. In that victory, he rushed 40 times for 431 yards and eight touchdowns, which is just crazy.

MacCormack also had an interception and nine tackles on the defensive side, according to Kerry.

Understandably, in 2023, MacCormack won a ton of awards and honors. He was named the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (“NEPSAC”) Class A player of the year and MVP of the Independent School League (“ISL”).

MacCormack also resided on the Massachusetts High School Football Coaches Association (“MHSFCA”) All-State squad.

His offer sheet, to date, includes teams such as Rutgers, Buffalo, Old Dominion, Boston College, Rhode Island, Nebraska, UMass, Delaware, Connecticut, Charlotte, Army and Coastal Carolina.

Per McAllister, Orange coaches are recruiting MacCormack as a running back. He plans to take an unofficial visit to the ‘Cuse on March 28 and then will officially visit Syracuse football during the weekend that starts on May 31, when the SU staff will have other coveted targets visiting as well.

When I wrote this article, On3’s recruiting prediction machine had Boston College in a slight lead for MacCormack, followed by UMass, Rutgers and then the ‘Cuse at No. 4.

However, that’s likely to change as his recruiting process carries onward. MacCormack’s decision to visit the Hill twice in the coming months is an encouraging sign for the Orange’s chances here.
