Qeanu Johnson, a standout 2025 wide receiver, cornerback and return man who won numerous honors during his 2023 season in Connecticut, will take an official visit to Syracuse football in mid-June.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Johnson, a three-star prospect who likely will move to four stars soon, will officially visit the Orange during the weekend of June 14, according to his bio on Rivals.com.

He also plans to go on an official visit to Big Ten Conference member Rutgers the weekend before, on June 7.

Johnson, who is nationally rated by the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking, was on the SU campus in late January of this year in an unofficial capacity as part of a Syracuse football junior day.

It was around that time that he was re-offered a scholarship by the new ‘Cuse coaching staff, which is led by head coach and ace recruiter Fran Brown.

Talented 2025 athlete Qeanu Johnson will officially visit Syracuse football.

Johnson is a star at the Hamden Hall Country Day School in Hamden, Conn. According to recruiting services, he currently holds around a dozen offers from suitors such as Army, Boston College, Connecticut, Duke, Indiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn State, Rutgers, West Virginia and Yale.

Per several recent media reports that I came across, it looks like Johnson also plans to visit Central New York to check out an Orange spring practice in early April.

Johnson, in a post on X, detailed his impressive statistics for his junior year during the 2023 season at Hamden Hall. He said he had two interceptions, one of them being a pick-six.

Johnson tallied nearly 1,200 all-purpose yards and 18 touchdowns. That included 11 carries for 164 yards, 33 receptions for 584 yards, eight kick returns for 261 yards, and six punt returns for 172 yards.

The On3 Industry Ranking, 247Sports and Rivals.com all place Johnson as a top-10 prospect coming out of Connecticut in the 2025 class. He’s also a top-80 multi-positional athlete in this cycle, according to 247Sports.

This past February, 247Sports national analyst Greg Biggins published an evaluation on Johnson, writing in part that he’s “a big, strong kid at about 6-1, 190 pounds and scored touchdowns in five different ways as a junior. … Has a safety frame but a receiver skill set and uses his size and strength to create separation. He’s not a burner but runs well enough and shows good initial quickness off the line. He catches the ball cleanly and does a nice job on 50-50 balls. Working to improve his burst and top end speed and game will take a big jump once he does.”

The weekend of June 14 is shaping up to be a big one for the Syracuse football coaching staff. Besides Johnson, other ‘Cuse targets who are planning to officially visit the program then include 2025 four-star cornerback/athlete Dawayne Galloway Jr. from Ohio, 2025 four-star athlete/wide receiver Jeff Exinor Jr. from Maryland, and 2025 four-star running back Kentrell Rinehart from Ohio.
