Mid-June is shaping up to be huge for the Syracuse football coaching staff.

On Thursday, four-star cornerback/athlete Dawayne Galloway Jr. from Ohio, a top-100 national prospect in the 2025 class, said via his X page that he would take an official visit to the Orange from June 14 to June 16.

Also on Thursday, as I noted in another column, during that same weekend four-star, top-25 running back Kentrell Rinehart, another Ohio product from the 2025 cycle, said he would officially visit the ‘Cuse from June 14 to June 16.

This is big-time, encouraging news for the Syracuse football staff, which is led by head coach and ace recruiter Fran Brown.

Last month, both Rinehart and Galloway revealed their respective lists of finalists in their recruitments, and the Orange made the cut for each of them.

Top-100 overall junior Dawayne Galloway Jr. will officially visit Syracuse football.

Galloway is a standout at Marion-Franklin High School in Columbus, Ohio, where he also excels in track and field.

He holds more than 20 offers from a range of high-major programs. The new ‘Cuse coaching staff offered Galloway a scholarship on December 20 of last year, he said on X.

In late February, Galloway came out with a top 12 that included Syracuse football along with Kentucky, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Colorado, West Virginia, Georgia, Michigan, Purdue, Texas A&M, UCF and Penn State.

By the way, both Galloway and Rinehart took unofficial visits to the ‘Cuse in January during one of the Orange’s junior days. And now they’ll be officially visiting the program at the same time in mid-June.

Galloway is an elite player in the 2025 class. On Thursday, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite placed him at No. 97 nationally, No. 11 at cornerback and No. 5 in Ohio.

Over at the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking, he was No. 122 overall, No. 11 at cornerback and No. 6 in Ohio.

ESPN, meanwhile, rated Galloway at No. 80 nationwide, No. 10 at cornerback and No. 2 in Ohio within the junior cycle.

Lately, Syracuse football coaches have lined up a boatload of official and unofficial visits from highly ranked 2025 targets that will transpire in the coming weeks or months. By extension, the Orange has made the finalist lists of various top-flight high school juniors.

On January 27 of this year, the ‘Cuse received its first pledge in the 2025 class, as four-star edge and top-300 national prospect Sharlandiin Strange of Cheltenham High School in Wyncote, Pa., verbally committed to Syracuse football over Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and Southern California.
