Syracuse football coaches appear to have some positive activity transpiring as it relates to several four-star and three-star quarterbacks in the high school junior class.

One of the more recent developments is that 2025 three-star quarterback/athlete Quentin Murphy named via his X page a top three of the Orange, fellow Atlantic Coast Conference squad Georgia Tech and Southeastern Conference member Arkansas.

Additionally, the 6-foot-1, 205-pound Murphy says that he plans to make his college decision on August 3. As first reported by The Juice Online, part of the Rivals.com network, he will visit Syracuse football on April 5.

Murphy, at one time verbally committed to fellow SEC school Ole Miss, was offered a scholarship by new Orange head coach Fran Brown and his staff in early January of this year. Murphy will spend his senior year at the Parkview Arts and Science Magnet High School in Little Rock, Ark.

Both industry-generated rating systems, the 247Sports Composite and the On3 Industry Ranking, place him in the top 500 nationally, the top 25 at athlete and the top five in Arkansas within the junior cycle.

Syracuse football is a contender for several talented 2025 quarterbacks.

On March 22, prolific signal-caller Luke Carney plans to visit the Orange. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Carney, in late January of 2024, picked up a scholarship offer from the ‘Cuse.

Rated as four stars and a top-25 quarterback nationwide in the 2025 class by Rivals.com, Carney has said in interviews that he has a high interest in Syracuse football.

In his exquisite career to date for the Dallas Christian School in Mesquite, Texas, Carney has amassed more than 10,000 yards and 112 touchdowns against just 16 interceptions, which is ridiculous. He’s also a three-time state champion in Texas.

This spring, per 247Sports director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong, 2025 three-star prospect and top-40 quarterback Cutter Woods will visit the Orange.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Woods, offered by the ‘Cuse on December 13 of last year, had a huge junior season and helped guide Westside High School in Anderson, S.C., to a state title in the 2023 season.

In early January, 2025 four-star quarterback Malik Washington named a top six of Syracuse football, Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, Penn State, Oregon and Maryland.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound Washington won various awards and honors while leading Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Md., to a state championship in his junior year.

In mid-December of 2023, the new Orange coaching staff re-offered a scholarship to Washington, who is a top-250 national prospect and a top-20 quarterback in his class.

During one of the team’s junior days this past January, Washington was on the Hill for an unofficial visit.

Lately, I’ve come across some reports noting spring visits for Washington. I haven’t seen ‘Cuse mentioned as of yet, but hopefully, Syracuse football coaches can get him to Central New York for an official visit in the future.

All of these 2025 targets are stellar signal-callers. If the Orange can land a commitment from at least one of them down the line, that would prove a fabulous recruiting win for Brown and his staff.
