Rivals.com recently unveiled its latest national rankings for the 2025 cycle, and we're checking in on a few Syracuse football four-star recruits who took a tumble in this refresh.

To be fair, all three of these Orange targets remain elite prospects in the rising high school senior class.

But much as I write articles about 'Cuse commits and recruits when their national rankings climb, sometimes, players with recruiting ties to Syracuse football also see their ratings drop.

In this column, I'll take a look at four-star quarterback Malik Washington from Maryland, four-star cornerback/athlete Dawayne Galloway Jr. from Ohio, and four-star defensive lineman Ethan Utley from Tennessee.

The latest 2025 national rankings for a trio of Syracuse football four-star targets.

Malik Washington
The 6-foot-5, 200-pound Washington, a standout signal-caller at Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Md., was re-offered a scholarship by the new 'Cuse staff in mid-December of 2023. He visited the Hill unofficially for one of the Orange's junior days this past January and plans to take an official visit to Syracuse football during the weekend that begins on June 7. On Rivals.com, there are multiple predictions in the direction of Virginia Tech for Washington. A recent 247Sports piece says that Washington could make a college decision on or around June 28.

Dawayne Galloway Jr.
The 6-foot, 175-pound Galloway, who attends Marion-Franklin High School in Columbus, Ohio, where he also runs track and field, is slated to take an official visit to the 'Cuse from June 14 to June 16. Galloway was offered by the Orange on December 20 of last year and unofficially visited for a junior day last January. In late February of this year, Galloway disclosed a top 12 of Syracuse football, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Colorado, West Virginia, Georgia, Michigan, Purdue, Texas A&M, UCF and Penn State. When I wrote this column, Purdue was receiving some analyst buzz for Galloway on the 247Sports and On3 Web sites.

Ethan Utley
The 6-foot-4, 270-pound Utley, out of The Ensworth School in Nashville, Tenn., verbally committed to Southeastern Conference member Tennessee in late March after having the Orange in his top five. However, Rivals.com national analyst Marshall Levenson recently noted that the Syracuse football staff remains in pursuit of Utley, who secured a 'Cuse offer on December 4 of last year. As I said in a column not too long ago, the 'Cuse staff only has a shot to flip him from the Volunteers to the Orange if it can get Utley to Central New York for a visit at some point.
