Izayia Williams, a four-star edge/linebacker in the 2026 class who hails from Florida, plans to make a trip to Syracuse football in mid-April.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Williams said via his X page that he will visit the Orange program on April 13, which is awesome news.

Williams, as a sophomore during the 2023 season, suited up for Leesburg High School in Leesburg, Fla. You can view some of his statistics during the most recent term by clicking on his bio via the MaxPreps Web site.

According to his X account, it looks like Williams now competes for Tavares High School in Tavares, Fla.

In mid-February of this year, Williams said on X that he had received a scholarship offer from the new 'Cuse coaching staff, led by head coach and top-flight recruiter Fran Brown.

Syracuse football will get a visit from 2026 four-star edge/linebacker Izayia Williams.

Per recruiting service and media outlet On3, within the sophomore cycle, Williams checks in at No. 49 nationwide and No. 6 in Florida.

Besides the Orange, according to recruiting Web sites, Williams holds scholarship offers from college squads such as USF, Ole Miss, Western Kentucky, Louisville, Iowa State and Florida A&M.

According to his bio on the 247Sports Web site and Rivals.com, Williams verbally committed to fellow Atlantic Coast Conference member Louisville last November. However, in late January of this year, he de-committed from the Cardinals and reopened his recruitment.

Since Brown and his staff officially took over the helm of Syracuse football in early December of 2023, Orange coaches have focused their recruiting efforts across numerous classes, in part, on traditional hotbeds such as New Jersey, New York, the Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia markets, and the rest of the Northeast corridor.

At the same time, though, the 'Cuse coaching staff has branched out to concentrate on a variety of other states, including Florida, Ohio, Texas and Tennessee.

For example, earlier this week, the Orange secured a verbal commitment from 2025 four-star quarterback Luke Carney, who is a prolific signal-caller from the Dallas area. Another one of the team's 2025 pledges, four-star edge Sharlandiin Strange, is from a Philly suburb.

Two Ohio products, 2025 four-star running back Kentrell Rinehart and 2025 four-star cornerback/athlete Dawayne Galloway Jr., will officially visit the Hill in mid-June.

During that same weekend, Canadian prospect Antwan Raymond will also take an official visit to Syracuse football. Raymond, a four-star running back in the 2025 class, was also on an unofficial visit to the 'Cuse this past weekend and most recently has played for the Clearwater Academy International in Clearwater, Fla.

Getting back to Williams, he appears to be an elite high school sophomore, and it's encouraging that he will be visiting the Orange next month.
