Syracuse Basketball: 4-star Ryder Frost just visited, dishes on playing Kiyan Anthony
By Neil Adler
Ryder Frost, the fast-rising 2025 four-star wing from Massachusetts, took an official visit to Syracuse basketball this past weekend and plans to take more campus trips in the coming months, he said in a recent interview.
It's been a whirlwind recruiting process for the top-100 national prospect of late, as the 6-foot-6 Frost has played at an ultra-high level on the AAU circuit and at other showcases, fueling a surge in his offer list and a jump in his 2025 rankings.
Frost has seen his offer sheet grow to more than 20, with the Orange staff pledging a scholarship to him in late May. Other relatively new offers have arrived from schools such as Miami, Wisconsin, Saint Joseph’s, Boston College, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, N.C. State, Minnesota and Nebraska.
Frost is a rising senior at the Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H. He's a standout, in grassroots basketball this spring and summer, for the 17U team of the Boston-based Middlesex Magic in the Under Armour Association league (“UAA”).
In two spring sessions on the Under Armour Association circuit, Ryder caught the attention of many national analysts and scouts for his performances. Later this month, the UAA will hold its season-ending playoffs in Illinois.
Last summer, the Middlesex Magic won the UAA title in the 17U field, and Frost said to media outlet Pro Insight in a recent interview that he's laser-focused on helping his AAU program make it two straight championships in this division. "It would mean a lot to me," he says.
Syracuse basketball four-star target Ryder Frost recently faced off with Melo's son.
Last month, Frost was invited to participate in the prestigious National Basketball Players Association ("NBPA") Top 100 Camp in Orlando, Fla. He was among numerous Orange four-star and five-star recruits across the 2025 and 2026 classes to play in this coveted annual event, along with 2025 five-star forward Sadiq White Jr., who verbally committed to the 'Cuse in late May.
In chatting with Pro Insight, Frost said it was an "awesome experience" and a "big honor" to get selected for the NBPA Top 100 Camp. He said he learned a lot in interacting with current and former NBA players, coaches and trainers, while playing alongside and against some of the best high school players nationwide.
When asked by Pro Insight about prospects he battled at this camp, Frost said it was "pretty cool" to play versus another Syracuse basketball 2025 priority target, four-star shooting guard Kiyan Anthony from New York City.
The 6-foot-5 Anthony, who holds an Orange offer and officially visited Syracuse basketball in late October of last year, had some huge scoring outputs at the NBPA Top 100 Camp, including 42 points against Frost and his teammates.
While Frost acknowledged that Anthony "torched us," Frost himself also received high marks from analysts and scouts for his play at the NBPA Top 100 Camp and during other recent events such as last weekend's NEPSAC Showcase in Avon, Conn.
In his Pro Insight interview, Frost noted the 'Cuse official visit and looks to take other visits either in the later summer or fall, but nothing has been finalized as of yet. It seems clear to me that Syracuse basketball coaches are prioritizing Frost in the 2025 class.
More pressing right now, though, is working hard, practicing well and capturing that Under Armour Association grand prize later on in July, he says.
