Fast-rising Ryder Frost, a relatively new Syracuse basketball recruit, has vaulted up the 2025 national rankings.
The 6-foot-6 Frost, a talented wing from Massachusetts, received a scholarship offer from the Orange staff on May 20, one of numerous high-major offers he has landed in recent weeks as his recruitment has blow up.
Earlier this week, On3 updated its 2025 national rankings of the top-150 players in the rising high school senior class, and Frost was one of several prospects who jumped into the top 100.
In its refresh, On3 has Frost as four stars, No. 99 overall, No. 22 at small forward and No. 2 in New Hampshire within the 2025 cycle.
Syracuse basketball 4-star target Ryder Frost is a hot prospect in the 2025 class.
Per his X page and recruiting services, other recent offers for Frost have arrived from schools such as Miami, Wisconsin, Saint Joseph’s, Boston College, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, N.C. State, Minnesota and Nebraska.
His full offer sheet also includes teams like Iowa, West Virginia, the University of Illinois Chicago, Penn State, Harvard, Vermont, Rhode Island, Brown, UMass, Dartmouth, Holy Cross, Fairfield and Le Moyne.
Other recruiting services, including 247Sports and the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, have Frost as three stars, but I expect that to change to four stars sooner rather than later. When I wrote this article, the 247Sports Composite placed Frost at No. 238 overall, No. 52 at small forward and No. 5 in New Hampshire.
He attends the Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H. On the AAU circuit this spring and summer, Frost is starring for the 17U team of the Boston-based Middlesex Magic in the Under Armour Association league.
Through two spring sessions on the Under Armour Association circuit, first in South Carolina and then more recently in Ohio, Frost has been deemed a top performer by various national analysts and scouts.
After securing his offer from Syracuse basketball, several media reports stated that Frost has a high interest in visiting the Orange program at some point. Stay tuned for that.
Since mid-April, at least five players in the 2025 cycle have landed newer Syracuse basketball offers. Other new 'Cuse recruits include four-star combo guard Acaden Lewis from Washington, D.C., three-star big man Asher Elson from New York City, four-star shooting guard Dante Allen from Florida, and four-star small forward Shon Abaev from Florida.
Last week, Syracuse basketball notched its first verbal commitment in its 2025 class when five-star forward Sadiq White Jr. from Charlotte, N.C., pledged to the Orange over other finalists Alabama, Southern California, Georgetown, LSU, Tennessee, and Texas.
