In a recent interview, 2025 four-star point guard Tyler Jackson from Baltimore discussed potentially teaming up at Syracuse basketball with 2025 four-star shooting guard Kiyan Anthony from New York City, and the 6-foot-3 Jackson says that he would have big plans for the duo on the Hill.

To date, the Orange has one pledge in its 2025 class. In late May, five-star forward Sadiq White Jr. from Charlotte, N.C., verbally committed to the 'Cuse, and as I noted in another column on Wednesday, the 6-foot-8 White is recruiting several 2025 targets to join him, including the 6-foot-5 Anthony and Jackson, who is a top-50 national prospect in the rising high school senior class.

The Orange staff offered a scholarship to Jackson in April of 2023. In late January of this year, he took an official visit to the 'Cuse. Jackson has also taken unofficial visits to Auburn and Maryland.

In a chat with top writer Sam Lance on zagsblog.com, Jackson noted that he's eyeing some upcoming campus visits to schools such as TCU, Ole Miss and LSU.

His full offer sheet includes college squads like Auburn, Ole Miss, Indiana, Villanova, LSU, Old Dominion, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, California, Kansas, Alabama, Maryland, Illinois, Rutgers, Seton Hall, DePaul, George Mason, Georgia Tech, Rhode Island, Houston, Penn State, UCF, Mississippi State, Arizona State and Wake Forest.

Jackson spent his junior season in the Atlanta-based professional league Overtime Elite, winning a championship there this past March. He has said on numerous occasions that he and Anthony are good friends.

Anthony's dad, Orange legend Carmelo Anthony, spent most of his childhood in Baltimore. This spring and summer, Jackson and Kiyan Anthony starred together for the 17U unit of the Baltimore-based Team Melo in Nike's EYBL league.

The 'Cuse coaching staff has recruited both Jackson and Anthony, a top-30 overall player in the 2025 class, for a while now. Both rising seniors are expected to release their lists of finalists in their respective recruitments soon.

Per Lance's article, Jackson and Anthony have discussed the possibility of playing together in college, and that discussion has included Syracuse basketball.

Jackson added, "I love Syracuse, you know coming from Melo. Melo, that’s been Melo program back winning the national championship. Me and Kiyan are really trying to bring another national championship. We’re gonna — whatever school he goes too, whatever school I choose — if we were to choose to go to Syracuse together — we’re going to bring a national championship you feel me."

Sounds awesome to me.

To be fair, it's by no means a guarantee that the Orange will land Jackson or Anthony, or both of them. In late April, Jackson did say that he's in frequent contact with Syracuse basketball coaches, which is a positive sign.

At the same time, within the 2025 class, the 'Cuse does have other guard targets on its radar, while Jackson and Anthony each boast a sizable number of other suitors. Still, it's fun to think about the possibility of this duo teaming up in Central New York, playing alongside White, who himself is a top-20 national prospect in this cycle.
