Syracuse basketball recruits, led by 4-star Tyler Jackson, are Overtime Elite champions
By Neil Adler
Two Syracuse basketball recruiting targets have won the Overtime Elite championship.
In the Overtime Elite playoffs following the 2023-24 regular season, the No. 2 seed City Reapers knocked off the No. 4 seed RWE on Sunday afternoon to claim the best-of-five series, 3-2.
On the City Reapers’ 2023-24 roster are 2025 four-star point guard Tyler Jackson from Baltimore and 2026 combo guard Parker Robinson from Olney, Md.
The 6-foot-3 Jackson, a top-25 national prospect in the junior cycle, received a scholarship offer from the Orange coaching staff in late April of 2023. This past January, he took an official visit to Syracuse basketball.
The 6-foot-5 Robinson, meanwhile, went on an unofficial visit to the ‘Cuse in late August of 2023 to compete in the Orange’s annual Elite Camp.
Syracuse basketball targets are the Overtime Elite champions.
Jackson transferred to the Atlanta-based professional league Overtime Elite for his junior year from the Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore. Robinson played his freshman term at Good Counsel High School in Olney before moving to Overtime Elite for his sophomore season.
On Sunday afternoon in the elimination game of the Overtime Elite final series, City Reapers beat RWE, 71-68. Jackson, in 15 minutes, finished with 12 points, four assists, one rebound and three steals.
He connected on 5-of-8 from the field and 2-of-3 from the free-throw line. Robinson chipped in two points in eight minutes of action.
By the way, if you click on the bios of Robinson and Jackson on the Overtime Elite Web site, you can view how they performed in the 2023-24 regular season and the league’s playoffs.
In 2023-24, Overtime Elite had eight members. Five of those squads were located outside of the league’s Atlanta headquarters, while the other three – including both City Reapers and RWE – were based in Atlanta.
Another Overtime Elite team in the most recent season has been the Our Saviour Lutheran School in the Bronx, N.Y., which operated as JellyFam in OTE contests.
One of the standouts for JellyFam was Syracuse basketball 2024 commit Elijah Moore, a four-star shooting guard. JellyFam was knocked out of the Overtime Elite playoffs in the second round.
Last week, on Our Saviour Lutheran’s senior night in a non-OTE contest, the 6-foot-5 Moore dropped a ridiculous 67 points on 13-of-19 shooting from beyond the arc, as first reported by my good friend and top New York hoops writer Zach Smart.
Orange Nation sends a big congratulations to Tyler Jackson, Parker Robinson and the City Reapers for their exquisite 2023-24 season.
