Elite Ohio product Dawayne Galloway Jr., a consensus top-250 national prospect in the 2025 class who will officially visit Syracuse football soon, has set a commitment announcement date for early July.

The four-star cornerback/athlete plans to make his college decision known on July 5, according to multiple media reports and recruiting services.

The 6-foot, 175-pound Galloway, a football and track star at Marion-Franklin High School in Columbus, Ohio, picked up a scholarship offer from the Orange staff on December 20 of last year.

Galloway is planning to take an official visit to the Hill from June 14 to June 16. He is one of numerous highly rated 2025 prospects who are officially visiting the 'Cuse that weekend, or did so earlier on in June.

Syracuse football is a contender for 2025 four-star cornerback/athlete Dawayne Galloway Jr.

In addition to his upcoming official visit to the Orange, this past January, Galloway went on an unofficial visit to the 'Cuse for one of the team's junior days.

In late February of this year, Galloway disclosed a top 12 of Syracuse football, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Colorado, West Virginia, Georgia, Michigan, Purdue, Texas A&M, UCF and Penn State.

For what it's worth, under his bio on the 247Sports Web site, college suitors listed as "warm" include the Orange, Kentucky, Michigan, Penn State, Purdue and West Virginia.

Speaking of Big Ten Conference member Purdue, when I wrote this article, the Boilermakers were receiving some analyst buzz for Galloway on the 247Sports and On3 Web sites.

At the time of this writing, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite had Galloway at No. 122 overall, No. 13 at cornerback and No. 6 in Ohio within the 2025 cycle. Over at the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking, he was No. 142 nationwide, No. 16 at cornerback and No. 7 in Ohio.

Kentrell Rinehart, a 2025 four-star running back, will also officially visit the 'Cuse from June 14 to June 16. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Rinehart, out of Westland High School in Galloway, Ohio, recently said on his X page that he will make his commitment announcement on July 5 as well.

To date, Syracuse football head coach Fran Brown and his staff have secured at least 19 verbal commitments in their 2025 class. Currently, this Orange cycle hovers between the top 10 and the top 15 nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite and Rivals.com.
