National expert projects Syracuse basketball to land 5-star priority target Moussa Kamissoko

Syracuse basketball could be on the verge of landing a 2027 five-star priority recruiting target.

On Tuesday morning, national reporter Joe Tipton of On3/Rivals logged a prediction for the Orange to ultimately secure a verbal pledge from five-star wing/small forward Moussa Kamissoko, the Bronx, N.Y., native who took an official visit to the 'Cuse earlier this month.

Another national analyst told Inside the Loud House on Tuesday morning that the Orange does appear to have buzz in Kamissoko's recruitment. Syracuse basketball has recruited him hard for a long time, with the former SU staff under then-head coach Adrian Autry first offering a scholarship to Kamissoko in late December 2024.

Since the fall recruiting period opened on September 9, the new Orange staff under first-year head coach Gerry McNamara has been in for the 6-foot-8, 180-pound Kamissoko during at least two open gyms at his high school, Inside the Loud House has reported.

For his senior year, Kamissoko has transferred from Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y., to the powerhouse Spire Academy in Geneva, Ohio. Not too long ago, MADE Hoops published its preseason top 25 in high school hoops for the 2026-27 campaign, and Spire, led by the legendary head coach Kevin Boyle, checks in at No. 1.

Late last month, Inside the Loud House reported on various teams that are expected to significantly compete for a high school national championship in 2026-27, and Spire is in that group.

Syracuse basketball is pushing hard for 2027 five-star wing/small forward Moussa Kamissoko.

Within the 2027 class, Kamissoko is ranked as high as No. 7 by Rivals. He's a top-15 national prospect, according to both the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking.

Besides his official visit to the 'Cuse, Kamissoko has taken recent visits to Providence (unofficial), Florida State, Oklahoma State and Illinois, according to Instagram page. Reports have indicated that he's eyeing other upcoming official visits, although we'll have to see if they end up happening.

Tipton reports that Kamissoko, a standout performer this past AAU season with the 17U team of the Bronx, N.Y.-based PSA Cardinals in Nike's EYBL league, is close to making his college decision. Should he verbally pledge to SU, he would join three-star wing and Albany, N.Y., product Jack Donohue of The Newman School in Boston within Syracuse basketball's 2027 cycle.
