Syracuse basketball coaches continue to ramp up their 2027 recruiting efforts, which makes sense, because on June 15, the Orange staff could start initiating direct communication with rising high school juniors.
Ever since the contact period opened in mid-June, 'Cuse coaches have reached out to more than two dozen 2027 prospects. Additionally, in recent weeks, Syracuse basketball has offered a handful of players in this cycle.
One of the latest to receive an Orange scholarship offer is 2027 four-star big man Theophilous Edema, who disclosed his SU offer via his X page. A huge congrats to Theophilous!
Sources tell me that 2027 Theo Edema of @TNEBBallClub & @CushingBBball has heard from the following schools since the opening of the contact period:

The 7-foot power forward/center, ranked in the top 80 overall by multiple recruiting services, is a rising junior at the Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Mass., which is an excellent prep-school program in the Northeast region.
Syracuse basketball is in pursuit of 2027 four-star big Theophilous Edema.
In the 2024-25 season, as a sophomore, Edema picked up an honorable mention nod for the All-New England Basketball League ("NEBL") teams. His Cushing teammate, 2026 four-star point guard Ryan Moesch, was the NEBL's MVP and has garnered interest from the Orange staff.

Numerous analysts and scouts have said that Edema is a fast-rising prospect within the 2027 class over the spring and now into the summer. Beyond the 'Cuse, some of his recent offers have arrived from squads such as Providence, Tennessee, Oklahoma State, Villanova, Alabama, Kansas and Georgetown.

This past weekend, Edema and Cushing competed during a scholastic live period at the NEPSAC ("New England Preparatory School Athletic Council") showcase in Avon, Conn. According to posts on X, Syracuse basketball general manager Alex Kline was on hand at the NEPSAC event.
Currently, Edema's highest 2027 national ranking comes courtesy of 247Sports, at No. 54 overall. Several recruiting services deem him a top-10 center in this cycle, as well as the No. 1 prospect from Massachusetts.
To date, besides Edema, Syracuse basketball coaches have offered scholarships to 2027 prospects such as four-star wing Clyde Walters of the Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H., four-star point guard J'Lon Lyons of the Clinton Grace Christian School in Clinton, Md., five-star power forward CJ Rosser of Northern Nash High School in Rocky Mount, N.C., four-star center Isaiah Hill of Pike High School in Indianapolis, five-star wing/forward Moussa Kamissoko of Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y., five-star forward Baba Oladotun of James Hubert Blake High School in Silver Spring, Md., five-star forward Zion Green of Camden High School in Camden, N.J., five-star power forward/center Paul Osaruyi of CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix, and four-star big man Caleb Ourigou of the Lawrence Woodmere Academy in Woodmere, N.Y.
