For the second weekend in a row, Syracuse basketball coaches were out and about at various events during another scholastic live period where prospects suited up for their high school programs.

I had a piece on some of the locations where the Orange staff resided during the first of two scholastic live periods in June, and this column will look into where 'Cuse coaches were this past weekend.

Per his Instagram page and other social media posts, Syracuse basketball assistant coach Brenden Straughn was in attendance at DMV Live in Hyattsville, Md., near Washington, D.C. The Washington region, and stretching into Baltimore, is huge recruiting focus for the Orange program.

Some prospects who hold either scholarship offers or interest from the 'Cuse and participated in DMV Live are 2026 five-star wing Qayden Samuels of Bishop McNamara High School in Forestville, Md., 2026 four-star point guard Neiko Mundey of the Prince George’s Christian Academy in Landover, Md., 2028 four-star wing Xavier Skipworth of the Bullis School in Potomac, Md., 2027 four-star point guard J'Lon Lyons of the Clinton Grace Christian School in Clinton, Md., and 2027 guard Terrence Jones III of the Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore.

Syracuse basketball coaches were at other events during this past weekend's live period.

According to posts on X, the Orange staff was also at the Mid-Atlantic Independent School team camp in Allentown, Pa., the NEPSAC ("New England Preparatory School Athletic Council") showcase in Avon, Conn., and also apparently the CHSAA team camp in New Rochelle, N.Y.

Syracuse basketball targets playing at the Mid-Atlantic Independent School team camp include 2026 five-star point guard Deron Rippey Jr. of the Blair Academy in Blairstown, N.J., 2026 four-star wing/power forward Quinn Costello of The Newman School in Boston, 2027 four-star big man Caleb Ourigou of the Lawrence Woodmere Academy in Woodmere, N.Y., and 2027 four-star center Nicolas Mitrovic of of the CATS Academy in Boston.

There were a load of teams at the NEPSAC showcase, where Syracuse basketball general manager Alex Kline was in attendance, per social media posts.

Prospects who competed in the NEPSAC event and have either an offer or interest from the 'Cuse include 2027 four-star wing/small forward Clyde Walters of the Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H.; 2026 four-star point guard Ryan Moesch and 2027 four-star center Theo Edema of the Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Mass.; and 2027 four-star shooting guard Patrick Otey, 2027 wing Dillon Callahan and 2027 three-star combo guard/small forward DJ Hawkins of the St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Conn.
