Syracuse basketball coaches are in contact with fast-rising 2026 three-star point guard Ryan Moesch, a former star player in Central New York who is now shining for a highly regarded prep school in Massachusetts.

That's according to various posts on X that I've come across of late. As far as I can tell, the Orange coaching staff hasn't yet offered a scholarship to the 6-foot Moesch, although it wouldn't surprise me at all if he ends up garnering a 'Cuse offer at some point in the future.

During the 2023-24 season, Moesch was absolutely sensational for Chittenango High School in Chittenango, N.Y., which is about 20 miles from Syracuse. For the current 2024-25 campaign, Moesch is playing at a high level for his new program, the Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Mass.

On the AAU circuit, Moesch will run with the Middlesex Magic, an excellent grassroots basketball program based in the Boston area that competes in the Under Armour Association league.

In mid-January of this year, the Syracuse basketball staff was on hand for a Cushing Academy contest, per a post on X from Dylan Thayer. According to a post on X last month from writer Jake Lieberman, the Orange is among the college squads that Moesch is in contact with, along with others such as Siena, Colgate, Rhode Island, Iona, Seton Hall, San Diego and UMass.

Ryan Moesch, a former CNY star and 2026 point guard, is a Syracuse basketball recruit to monitor.

According to recruiting services, Moesch's full scholarship offer sheet includes schools such as Rhode Island, Gerry McNamara-led Siena, Towson, Le Moyne, Manhattan, Gardner–Webb, Stonehill, Marist, George Mason, NJIT, Colgate, Fairfield and Iona.

In the latest 2026 rankings from 247Sports, Moesch checks in as three stars, No. 145 overall, No. 19 at point guard and No. 5 in Massachusetts.

Last December, 247Sports director of scouting Adam Finkelstein wrote of Moesch, "The New York native made himself a mid-major priority in the class of 2025, but opted to reclassify upon arriving at Cushing. He's also showing new aspects of his game as well. Known for his shooting, he's showing that he is an ultra-crafty and cerebral lead guard. His ability to make reads out of ball-screens is far beyond his years, while his ability to shoot off the dribble just makes defenders pick their poison. Set to join the Middlesex Magic this spring, he looks like a player bound to generate high-major recruitment in the near future."

Within the 2026 class, Syracuse basketball coaches have offered scholarships to a handful of point guards, such as four-star Miles Sadler of CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix, four-star Deron Rippey Jr. of the Blair Academy in Blairstown, N.J., four-star Neiko Mundey of the Shabach Christian Academy in Landover, Md., and four-star Anthony Brown of Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, D.C.
