Fellow Atlantic Coast Conference team Florida State will have one final push this coming weekend to try and flip Syracuse football 2026 verbal commit Kamron Wilson, a four-star edge from the Sunshine State.
According to analysts, the 6-foot-5, 225-pound Wilson is taking an official visit to the Seminoles this weekend as FSU has its final home game of the 2025 season, against Virginia Tech on Saturday night.
The early signing period for 2026 high school football prospects is in early December, and Orange coaches are hoping to hang onto all their verbal pledges in a stellar 2026 class for the 'Cuse. One of those commits is Wilson, a top-300 national prospect among high school seniors who is being courted by Florida State and Nebraska, perhaps among others, analysts say.
Wilson has long maintained that he's locked in with the 'Cuse and its head coach, ace recruiter Fran Brown. However, Wilson is also from Florida, so it would be understandable if he ultimately decided to play college ball in the Sunshine State.
At the same time, as much as the Orange has struggled on the field in the 2025 campaign, so, too, have the Seminoles (4-5 overall,1-5 in the ACC). As such, the job security of FSU head coach Mike Norvell isn't entirely stable these days. That's something to monitor.

Wilson verbally pledged to the Orange in late March of this year. He officially visited Syracuse football over the summer and has also taken several unofficial visits to the Hill.

Wilson is a standout senior at Miami Southridge Senior High School, a program that went 12-3 last year and is 9-1 so far in the current campaign, according to MaxPreps. As a junior, Wilson tallied 85 solo tackles, 118 total tackles, 32 tackles for a loss and 17 sacks. He's also played quite well to date in the 2025 season, and Miami Southridge has a Florida state playoff game coming up this Friday night.

Brown and his assistants have landed 30 verbal pledges in 2026, and eight of them are from Florida, including four-star defensive back Tedarius Hughes, who earlier this month flipped from FSU to the 'Cuse. The Orange's 2026 cycle is No. 23 nationally via the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
