Four-star edge Kamron Wilson, a Syracuse football 2026 verbal commit from the Sunshine State, is visiting fellow Atlantic Coast Conference squad Florida State this weekend as the No. 18 Seminoles host No. 3 Miami on Saturday night in a big-time conference clash.

Multiple recruiting analysts and media outlets reported on the 6-foot-5, 225-pound Wilson planning to travel to Tallahassee, Fla., this weekend. He officially visited the Orange in mid-June, and Wilson has unofficially visited the Hill several times, including for the team's win over non-conference foe UConn at the JMA Wireless Dome on September 6.

According to analysts, Big Ten Conference member Nebraska also remains in pursuit of Wilson. He has maintained that he's locked in with the 'Cuse, but Wilson is also from the state of Florida, attending Miami Southridge Senior High School. Might he want to stay closer to home? We'll see.

It's flip season, and other schools are pursuing Syracuse football verbal commits.

The early signing period for 2026 high school prospects will come in early December. So it could be two more anxious months for Orange fans, as the Syracuse football staff works its collective butt off to hold onto its fantastic 2026 class.

The 'Cuse has 29 verbal pledges in a senior cycle that is No. 26 overall these days, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. One of these commits is five-star wide receiver Calvin Russell lll of Miami Northwestern Senior High School.

Russell, a top-25 national prospect, visited the Orange last weekend, as I reported. He has been to Miami for at least two game-day visits during the 2025 campaign, although that's his hometown college team, and one of Russell's best friends suits up for the Hurricanes.

Whether or not Russell might flip from Syracuse football to Miami seems to be a weekly topic of conversation among recruiting analysts of late. To me, so long as Fran Brown remains the head coach of the Orange, Russell will stay with the 'Cuse. Just my take.

Last weekend, the word is that the Maryland staff was in to see Syracuse football 2026 verbal pledge Amare Gough, a four-star wide receiver out of Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond, Va. Earlier this year, Gough, a top-250 national prospect, took official visits to Maryland, Syracuse, Virginia and Virginia Tech.

Orange 2026 verbal commit Javeion Cooper, a four-star offensive tackle, took a visit to Big 12 Conference member Colorado and its head coach, ace recruiter Deion Sanders, last Saturday.

Four-star edge Jarius Rodgers, a Syracuse football 2026 verbal pledge, is planning to take an official visit to Florida State this weekend, according to his bio on the 247Sports Web site. He attends Fleming Island High School in Fleming Island, Fla.

I'm not suggesting that these Orange commits will ultimately flip, but it is something to keep an eye on this fall.
