Look for 2028 five-star point guard Michai White from Hackensack, N.J., to possibly pick up a scholarship offer from Syracuse basketball sooner rather than later.

The 6-foot-1 White, a top-15 national prospect in the high school sophomore class, is a standout at the powerhouse Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H., and the Albany, N.Y.-based City Rocks on Nike's EYBL circuit.

Over the years, both Brewster and the City Rocks have sent numerous alumni to the Orange program. The 'Cuse staff is showing an interest in White, and it would be no surprise at all if he gets a scholarship offer from the program.

In late August, White took an unofficial visit to the Hill to participate in Syracuse basketball's annual Elite Camp. Since the contact period for 2028 prospects doesn't open until mid-June of next year, White's parents are communicating with the Orange staff, led by general manager Alex Kline.

I'm told that, assuming White is offered by Syracuse basketball, he does have an interest in visiting the 'Cuse again. To date, I'm aware of at least 11 prospects in the 2028 cycle who have secured a scholarship offer from the Orange.

Syracuse basketball is keeping tabs on 2028 five-star point guard Michai White.

According to social media posts and recruiting services, White's full offer sheet includes teams such as UNLV, Auburn, Louisville, Northwestern, Penn State, Oklahoma State, VCU, Stanford, Alcorn State, San Diego, Rider and Hampton. Teams such as the Orange, Villanova and Purdue are displaying an interest in him.

White played as a freshman at the St. Benedict's Preparatory School in Newark, N.J., but then, for the 2025-26 season, he transferred to Brewster. Currently a top-10 national team, per ESPN recruiting director Paul Biancardi, Brewster is a member of the loaded 20-team Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Scholastic ("EYBL Scholastic").

Within the 2028 class, Rivals places White at No. 13 overall and No. 1 at point guard. Through Brewster's first two EYBL Scholastic games, he is averaging 15.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 3.0 steals per contest.

Regarding the Syracuse basketball program, White recently told stockrisers.com, "The interest came through at their Elite Camp towards the end of the summer, and they mentioned they were looking at my progression as a player. I’m following everything they’re doing with the team and their guard play with players like Kiyan Anthony."
