Kager Knueppel, a 2027 four-star forward from Wisconsin whom Syracuse basketball has shown an interest in, is headed to the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The 6-foot-10, 225-pound Knueppel said on X that he has verbally committed to Duke. He is the younger brother of former Blue Devils star Kon Knueppel, who was one of the best rookies in the NBA this past season.
Kager Knueppel garnered interest from new Orange staff under first-year head coach Gerry McNamara and the former SU staff under then-head coach Adrian Autry, who is now an assistant at another ACC school, Virginia.

After the 2027 contact period opened on June 15 of last year, Knueppel heard from the 'Cuse. More recently, this past spring during a live period on the AAU circuits, the new Syracuse basketball staff under McNamara watched Knueppel as he competed for the 17U squad of the Milwaukee-based Team Herro in Nike's EYBL league.
Knueppel, ranked as high as No. 28 nationally in his class by 247Sports, is a standout at Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee. As a junior in the 2025-26 campaign, Knueppel guided Wisconsin Lutheran to a 30-0 overall record and the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association ("WIAA") Division 1 state title.
So who is Syracuse basketball recruiting in the 2027 class?
McNamara and his staff have certainly ramped up their recruiting efforts of late, especially in the 2027 and 2028 classes.
