Isaac Chukwurah, a 2026 three-star defensive lineman who is verbally pledged to Big Ten Conference member Penn State, was on the Hill this weekend to take in Syracuse football's home game against fellow Atlantic Coast Conference school Pittsburgh at the JMA Wireless Dome.

Chukwurah was one of dozens of 'Cuse verbal pledges and recruiting targets in Central New York this past weekend. While the Orange didn't beat long-time rival Pitt, there was still a ton of energy at the Dome among these high school prospects in attendance.

I'm told that Chukwurah's visit to Syracuse football went well, and he's keeping the Orange under consideration in his recruiting process. That's great to hear.

On Sunday, according to his X page, Chukwurah picked up a scholarship offer from Syracuse football head coach Fran Brown. A huge congrats to Isaac! Chukwurah may also look to officially visit the 'Cuse at some point, per Sports Illustrated.

Syracuse football is trying to flip a Penn State verbal pledge.

Chukwurah is a senior at the Caravel Academy in Bear, Del. Lately, he has secured scholarship offers from other schools such as Miami, West Virginia, Boston College, Southern Mississippi and N.C. State.

A week ago, Penn State fired head coach James Franklin. Following that development, the 6-foot-2, 260-pound Chukwurah said on his X page that he would remain verbally committed to the Nittany Lions, while also reopening his recruitment.

Within the 2026 class, Chukwurah is in the top 525 overall, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking. Rivals has him as the No. No. 29 defensive lineman in this cycle.

Also at the Dome this past Saturday was 2027 four-star wide receiver and top-30 national prospect Khalil Taylor, who has de-committed from Penn State. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Taylor is a junior at Pine-Richland High School in Gibsonia, Pa., near Pittsburgh.

On Halloween, when Syracuse football will host North Carolina, 2027 five-star running back Kemon Spell is expected to visit for that ACC encounter. He has also de-committed from the Nittany Lions.

The 5-foot-10, 210-pound Spell, who attends McKeesport Area Senior High School in McKeesport, Pa., near Pittsburgh, is a top-10 national prospect and the country's No. 1 running back in 2027.

To date, the Orange has 28 verbal pledges in a 2026 class that is No. 26 nationally, per the 247Sports Composite. In 2027, the 'Cuse has six verbal commits, and the cycle is rated No. 3 overall by the 247Sports Composite.
