Penn State 2026 verbal commit Isaac Chukwurah, a three-star defensive lineman from Delaware, will visit Syracuse football this weekend to take in the Orange's home game at the JMA Wireless Dome against Pittsburgh, I've been told.

Brian Dohn of 247Sports also reported this news on Thursday. I reported earlier on Thursday that the Orange staff was in contact with Chukwurah, a senior at the Caravel Academy in Bear, Del.

This past Sunday, leaders of Penn State fired head coach James Franklin. On October 13, the 6-foot-2, 260-pound Chukwurah said via his X page that he remained verbally pledged to the Nittany Lions, but that he would also reopen his recruitment.

In recent days, he has landed new scholarship offers from college squads such as Miami, West Virginia, Boston College, Southern Mississippi and N.C. State.

In the 2026 cycle, Chukwurah is ranked in the top 525 nationally by both the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking. Rivals places him as the No. 29 defensive lineman in this class.

Amid Franklin being let go, numerous Penn State verbal pledges in the 2026 or 2027 classes have either de-committed from the team or stated that they remain pledged to the Nittany Lions while reopening their recruitment.

Khalil Taylor, a 2027 four-star wide receiver from the Pittsburgh area, will be on hand for the Panthers game at the Dome. He de-committed from Penn State late last week. Kemon Spell, a 2027 five-star running back also from the Pittsburgh region, has de-committed from the Nittany Lions and will visit the 'Cuse for its Halloween encounter against North Carolina on the Hill.

It's a massive recruiting weekend for the 'Cuse staff as many highly ranked prospects are in town for the Pittsburgh contest. Others visiting include 2027 five-star offensive tackle Oluwasemilore Olubobola from New Jersey, 2027 four-star cornerback Kei'Shjuan Telfai from Ohio and 2027 four-star wide receiver Jaden Upshaw from Georgia.

Currently, Syracuse football has 28 verbal pledges in its 2026 class. This Orange cycle is No. 26 nationwide, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

Here's how to watch the 'Cuse host fellow Atlantic Coast Conference foe Pittsburgh on Saturday night at the Dome. Syracuse football looks to halt a two-game losing streak.
